About The Team

The AIPS team is part of the SEEK Group and offers global AI-centric core services like search, behavioural tracking, recommendations, candidate matching, ontological services, and personalisation.

AIPS works primarily with internal partners, delivering services to these partners, who in turn deliver products to customers (candidates, hirers).

Members of the AIPS team fall into one of three primary roles:

• AI (Artificial intelligence and machine learning)
• Strategy (Business, product, go to market)
• Engineering (Development, devops, operationalisation of models)

People representing each of these roles are combined into squads which are in turn responsible for related sets of business services.

About the Squad

Join our AIPS Engineering Practice - Service squad, where we're at the forefront of transforming SEEK's marketplace data into valuable insights and connected assets.

Our squad specializes in:

• Building and maintaining sophisticated knowledge bases
• Developing algorithms for efficient data querying and insights extraction
• Crafting services that help SEEK make better sense of our marketplace data
• Enabling solutions for critical marketplace challenges through data-driven approaches

As a key member of our team, you'll collaborate closely with ontologists to:

• Manage and maintain ontology assets
• Develop and support services that bring to bear these ontological concepts
• Contribute to the evolution of our knowledge management systems

We're passionate about turning complex data into actionable insights that power SEEK's marketplace solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Transform complex, loosely defined requirements into practical, effective solutions
• Design and implement robust, scalable system components with a focus on fault tolerance and performance
• Take ownership of system components, including implementation and technical debt management
• Ensure high service availability and meet non-functional SLAs in production environments
• Collaborate with data scientists, ontologists, and engineering managers in an agile environment
• Contribute to system roadmaps and capacity planning
• Develop comprehensive testing strategies to ensure systems are fit for purpose
• Drive continuous delivery practices and enable team efficiency
• Support and mentor team members while removing delivery obstacles
• Balance immediate delivery needs with long-term code base sustainability
• Design and conduct experiments to evaluate algorithm performance
• Participate in on-call rotation to support critical production services
• Align technical solutions with AIPS Technology Strategy and squad objectives

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field with equivalent experience
• 3+ years of professional software development experience
• Expertise in Python, Scala, and TypeScript
• Strong AWS cloud platform experience
• Understanding of machine learning fundamentals, deep learning, and LLMs
• Experience with functional programming paradigms
• Track record of building and maintaining highly scalable, resilient systems
• Proven ability to craft and implement robust software architecture
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices
