Event Operations Manager (6-month Contract)

Situation Group, a global collective of digital-first advertising agencies and an award-winning nonprofit, seeks an Event Operations Manager. This role will report to Eileen Minnick, Executive Director of Operations. Currently looking for a contract hire for a 6 month term.

What You’ll Do

We’re looking for an organized and detail-oriented Event Operations Manager to oversee the production of our internal virtual events. In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing event timelines, logistics, and communication plans across multiple projects at various stages. You’ll collaborate with different departments to ensure seamless execution, from initial planning to post-event follow-up. Our office is located in midtown Manhattan and we are currently working in-office three days per week.

Sample Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Oversee the production of internal agency events (primarily virtual).
• Serve as the main point of contact for the event calendar, ensuring timely scheduling in collaboration with Content Leads.
• Manage event timelines, deliverables, and logistics for each event.
• Coordinate event-related meetings (kickoffs, content check-ins, rehearsals, etc.).
• Ensure smooth event execution, including managing technical aspects and roles.
• Develop and maintain communication plans for event messaging and asset distribution.
• Handle post-event follow-up, including asset generation and internal distribution.
• Provide event status updates and reports to key stakeholders.

• Strong understanding of event purpose, topics, and stakeholders, and the ability to communicate effectively.
• Proven ability to manage multiple event timelines and deliverables simultaneously.
• Experience in live and virtual event planning and execution.
• Ability to problem-solve and implement contingency plans in real time.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a flexible, results driven mindset.
• Ability to manage projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in Zoom Webinars, Google Workspace, and Asana.
