What we’re looking for
At the moment, Skin Analytics is going through an exciting growth phase with health partnerships in the NHS and private sector.
We are looking for a highly skilled Mobile Automation QA Engineer with extensive experience in both mobile and support web automation testing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software quality assurance, with a focus on creating and maintaining automated test suites to ensure the highest standards of product quality.
Responsibilities
Manual/Automation Testing:
- Testing our Platforms (APIs, Web App, Mobile App) and understanding our workflows.
- Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts for both mobile and web applications.
- Utilise automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Playwright) to create efficient and reusable test scripts.
- Designing, developing, and maintaining a scalable mobile automation testing framework using Appium to ensure efficient and reliable test execution.
- Integrating automated tests into nightly runs.
Test Planning and Execution:
- Design comprehensive test plans and test cases based on product requirements and specifications.
- Perform functional, regression, performance, and load testing.
- Execute manual tests when necessary and document defects in a clear and concise manner.
API Testing:
- Develop and execute API tests using tools like Postman and Swagger.
- Validate API responses, performance, and error handling.
- Ensure API tests are integrated with automated test suites.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with developers, product managers to understand product features and technical implementations.
- Participate in Agile/Kanban ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Collaborate using Git for version control, including creating and reviewing pull requests.
- Working along with the QA Lead to improve our testing capabilities, approach, toolset, coverage, etc.
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure the quality and reliability of software products by implementing and adhering to best practices in QA methodologies.
- Review and analyse user stories, requirements, and technical specifications.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Document test plans, test cases, and test results.
- Provide clear and actionable bug reports and track defects to resolution.
Skills and Qualifications
Required technical knowledge:
- 3+ years of experience in mobile automation testing.
- Strong hands-on experience with Appium, Javascript and Typescript.
- Experience with Playwright, or other test automation frameworks.
- Knowledge of mobile application architectures (iOS & Android).
- Experience with API testing tools like Postman and Swagger.
- Proficient in using Git for version control, including creating and managing pull requests.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools.
- Solid understanding of Agile/Kanban methodologies.
- Proficiency in using Visual Studio Code (VS Code) or similar IDEs.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Able to multitask, prioritise, and manage time efficiently.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
General technical skills:
- Experience in working within a regulated SSDLC process (optional but advantageous)
- Experience in working in MedTech, including ISO 13485 and ISO 62384 (optional but advantageous)
