Sr. System Validation and Verification Engineer

SkyGrid, an Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) Third-Party Service Provider (TSP), exists to open the sky for autonomous flight. Based in Austin, Texas, SkyGrid builds high-assurance third-party services to enable the safe operation and integration of autonomous aircraft. SkyGrid also acts as the operational nexus for Advanced Air Mobility, integration, and managing data, infrastructure, access, and traffic to support scaled operations.  


The SkyGrid team is looking for a Senior Systems Validation and Verification Engineer to support the planning, designing, and execution of the system validation, integration, and verification activities. In this role, you will collaborate with functional teams to create test plans, design and execute manual and automated test cases, and document and maintain test results. When issues arise, you will manage problem reports by documenting, prioritizing, and tracking them through resolution. You will ensure that industry standards and regulations along with quality assurance practices are implemented. You will be responsible for supporting integration testing which involves validating interfaces, data flow, and communication protocols to identify and resolve integration issues. Performance Objectives:
  • Identified the verification and validation activities for system and subsystem requirements.
  • Developed verification and validation procedures and reports.
  • Identified the test setup and environment for black box system.
  • Maintain the verification and validation matrix.


Responsibilities:
  • Review system and subsystem requirements for accuracy, completeness, and testability. 
  • Plan and conduct validation, integration, and verification activities for system and subsystem requirements per ARP 4754A.
  • Work closely with functional teams to develop comprehensive test plans and procedures.
  • Identify and design the test setup and environment for black box system.
  • Design and execute test cases (manual and automated testing approaches) and methodologies.
  • Document and maintain test results and reports.
  • Ensure the testing process aligns with industry standards, regulations, and quality assurance practices.  
  • Collaborate with customers in support of system integration. 
  • Participate in technical reviews. 


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems, Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering or related STEM degree.
  • 7+ years of experience working in a highly technical, aerospace-related industry.  
  • Experience in integration, verification, and validation of complex avionics or terrestrial systems.
  • Experience in planning and conducting integration testing to ensure seamless collaboration.
  • Experience with ARP 4754A.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced Engineering degree, (Masters), from an accredited institution. 
  • Familiarity with DO-178C, DO-254 and DO-331.
  • Familiarity with testing network systems.
