The role:
The Finance Specialist will be responsible for the accounts payable functions of Golden Pacific Bank (GPB) as well as other department reporting tasks. GPB is a division of Sofi Bank with operations in Sacramento, Yuba City, and Live Oak CA. These operations are based on three actual physical branch locations. GPB contributes data in a variety of ways to SBNA for financial reporting, regulatory reporting, and cash management. Under the supervision of the Finance Manager, the Finance Specialist will coordinate the collection, approval process, and payment of invoices for all vendors unique to GPB on a weekly basis. The Finance Specialist will also assist in the weekly, monthly, and quarter-end reporting requirements of GPB. In addition, this position will lend operational support to the branch functions at the Sacramento location. This position collaborates with all departments of the division as well as senior management.
**Please note: This is not a remote opportunity- this role will be onsite, full-time, in the Sacramento Corporate office location**
What you’ll do:
Manage the AP process as currently designed, while looking for ways to continue to streamline and make it more efficient. This position will also assist in the normal operations and duties of the GPB Finance area.
● Interact regularly with staff division-wide.
● Respond to branch inquiries regarding vendors.
● Prepare and/ or review various reports including weekly and monthly reports.
● Maintain and modify operating procedures for GPB Finance when needed.
● Adhere to bank policies and support SoFi management decisions and goals in a positive, professional manner.
● Represent Golden Pacific Bank and SoFi Bank with a high level of integrity and professionalism.
● Comply with all Federal and State laws. The employee will complete the required training and will be accountable for compliance with all Federal and State laws related to their job description.
● Partner with the Branch team and perform dual custody when needed.
● Perform other duties as assigned.
What you’ll need:
Strong knowledge of branch-based banking operations.
● A high level of integrity, professionalism, and accountability.
● Excellent oral and written communication abilities and strong interpersonal skills.
● Lead and work with individuals and groups at all organizational levels. Good team player. Good listening skills.
● Solid practical knowledge of Excel and Google suite of applications.
● Ability to take initiative and prioritize tasks; good time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
● Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
● Ability to study and apply new information.
● Possess a work ethic that includes honesty, punctuality, and accuracy.
● Knowledge of banking compliance rules and regulations.
● Possess a valid California Driver’s License.
● High school diploma; College degree strongly preferred but not an absolute requirement.
● Minimum of (2) years of banking or credit union experience.
Nice to have:
● Relevant undergraduate degree.
● Familiarity with IT platforms for financial institutions.
● Experience working in the greater Sacramento and Yuba/Sutter markets.
