About the role

This is a hybrid role based out of Salt Lake City, UT. Once office space is secured, employees will be expected to be in office Tuesday through Thursday.

We are seeking an energetic and results-driven Sales Development Representative (SDR) to join our team. As an SDR, you'll play a pivotal role in identifying potential business opportunities and setting up meetings with key decision-makers to drive the growth of Sourgum. Your primary focus will be on prospecting and cold calling businesses to setup meetings with decision makers and a Sourgum Account Executive to secure their waste and recycling service contracts. We want aggressive go-getters who are smart enough to see every "no" as an invitation to finding the next "yes". This job is ideal for someone who thrives in a high pressure environment, enjoys interacting with people and taking on challenges. This position puts you on a trajectory to be promoted to an Account Executive.

Your responsibilities

  • Prospect and identify potential new business opportunities through research, networking, and cold calling.
  • Engage and qualify leads, and set appointments for Account Executives.
  • Meet and exceed monthly quotas for calls made and meetings set.
  • Maintain detailed records in our CRM, ensuring that all communication and follow-up actions are logged.
  • Work closely with the sales team to refine outreach strategies and improve the handover process.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitors, and emerging opportunities.
  • Have the opportunity to attend various trade shows and expos.

Role requirements

  • Previous experience in an SDR or outbound sales role or internship is preferred, but not mandatory
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven approach.
