About the Job

As a Senior Account Executive, you will be responsible for achieving new business revenue goals by expanding Sovrn’s publisher base initially for Commerce (Affiliate Marketing). From initial outreach to relationship development, product demonstration, and closure, this role requires complete ownership of the planning and execution of new business. You will work closely with C-levels, VPs, and Directors of brands, to solve real problems all by taking a solution oriented approach to win new business. 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Manage full pipeline and reporting of new business sales
  • Cultivate and manage Commerce software relationships and ultimately cross-sell into different business lines at Sovrn
  • Grow platform spend to meet and exceed goals while continuously prospecting new business
  • Owning the Senior and C-Level relationships across prospective clients, driving regular client meetings at different levels in the advertiser’s organization
  • Manage a portfolio of Publisher relationships to grow revenue through the Sovrn Platform
  • Spearhead the development of and dialogue around complex, sometimes custom solutions for Publishers with assistance from Ops, Product and other teams.
  • Partner with a broad range of internal teams (marketing, legal, account management,creative and quality) to support the sales efforts. Deliver against set KPIs.
  • Collaborate with your manager and account team to evaluate strategic opportunities, review potential strategies, and deliver impactful solutions.
  • Proactive and capable of opening doors across medium to large Publishers
  • Ability to persuade executive level management of Sovrn’s value proposition across Sovrn businesses 
  • Utilize Salesforce and Excel to manage sales activities effectively.

The successful candidate will have: 

  • 5+ years applicable experience in either Business Development, Account Management, Relationship Management or Sales roles in the online industry with proven experience and success
  • Experience in the commerce affiliate space working with publishers and/or demand partners
  • Understanding of the changing landscape as it relates to third party cookies
  • Ideal desired experience includes coming from prior roles bringing Publisher relevant contacts as well as proven success selling Programmatic and/or Data Solutions
  • Knowledge of programmatic buying and selling processes, familiarity with key SSPs, DSPs, trading desks, DMPs, and agencies, as a nice to have.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills, and an ability to persuade at all levels of a company
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently meet and exceed revenue goals across multiple accounts
  • High level of integrity, exceptional presentation skills, and excellent organizational and communication abilities
  • Strong sales-hunting skills, leveraging existing contacts with publishers to build a substantial book of business.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented mindset, fostering a cooperative work environment
  • High emotional intelligence and the ability to nurture and mentor customers, focusing on solving their important problems.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field; or equivalent professional working experience

Compensation and Benefits

In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the approximate compensation range for this role in New York  is $175,000 to $200,000, including base salary and any related bonuses, commissions or variable compensation. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, skills and certifications.
