VP Global Sales Weather & Climate

Job Overview: 
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Sales Manager to lead the Spire Weather and Climate Sales Team. The Sales Manager will be responsible for driving revenue growth by managing a high-performing sales team, closing key deals, and providing actionable insights through metric reporting to senior management. This role requires a strategic leader with deep expertise in sales processes, B2B SaaS (Software as a Service) and DaaS (Data as a Service) sales, and a strong understanding of weather and climate solutions. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a proven track record of exceeding sales targets while fostering team success. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Team Management: Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of sales professionals to achieve individual and collective sales goals. Provide coaching, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities to ensure team success. 
  • Sales Execution: Actively participate in the sales process by closing high-value deals, managing key accounts, and building strong relationships with clients in commodity trading, hedging, energy, utilities, and logistics industries. 
  • Metric Reporting: Track, analyze, and report key performance indicators (KPIs) and sales metrics to management. Deliver regular updates on team performance, pipeline health, and revenue forecasts to inform strategic decision-making. 
  • Strategy Development: Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement sales strategies that align with company goals and capitalize on market opportunities in the commodity trading, hedging, energy, utilities, and logistics industries. 
  • Customer Engagement: Understand client needs and position our SaaS and DaaS weather solutions as critical tools for their success, ensuring high customer satisfaction and retention. 
  • Process Optimization: Continuously refine and improve sales processes to increase efficiency, shorten sales cycles, and maximize conversion rates. 

Key Skills: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Meteorology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 
  • Extensive sales experience, with at least 2 years in a sales management or leadership role. 
  • Proven expertise in B2B SaaS and DaaS sales, with a track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets. 
  • Strong knowledge of sales processes, including lead generation, pipeline management, and deal closure. 
  • Familiarity with weather and climate solutions, including their applications in industries such as commodity trading, hedging, energy, utilities, and logistics. 
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and manage a diverse team. 
  • Proficiency in CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and sales analytics platforms. 
  • Analytical mindset with experience in metric reporting and data-driven decision-making. 

Preferred Skills: 

  • Experience working in a technology-driven or data-focused industry. 
  • Understanding of weather data or climate modeling solutions. 
  • Ability to adapt to evolving market trends and customer needs in the weather and climate sector.

Spire operates a hybrid work model, and this position will require you to work a minimum of three days per week in the office.

The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Final base salary for this role will be based on the location, skills, experience and qualifications. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for commissions and annual equity awards. This role is also eligible for our employee benefits program, including vacation, sick, and personal time off; optional medical, dental, vision, life, and disability coverage; a 401(K) plan; health and wellness reimbursement program; and participation in Spire’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.

Base Salary Range
$202,500$238,500 USD
