Associate Creative Director (Video Marketing)

Superside is seeking a visionary Associate Creative Director, Video to elevate our marketing creative capabilities and spearhead our new video production hub in Cape Town, South Africa. In this role, you’ll lead a talented team of video professionals, driving creative excellence across a range of content, from quick-turn UGC-style ads to high-quality brand campaigns, product videos, and commercials like this one. Your leadership will be instrumental in shaping Superside’s video production processes, enabling us to deliver impactful, performance-driven content at scale.

This is a unique opportunity for a strategic creative leader with a strong background in direct response advertising and a passion for innovation to build and lead a team that produces video content designed to achieve measurable results and drive Superside’s growth.

• Oversee the day-to-day creation of video content for marketing campaigns, including direct-response ads, product videos, brand stories, testimonials, and commercials.
• Develop engaging, results-driven video ads tailored to diverse audiences, achieving measurable performance goals.
• Write compelling scripts and conceptualize innovative video content that aligns with Superside’s marketing objectives.
• Provide creative and art direction for all video projects, ensuring alignment with Superside’s brand and advertising strategies.
• Lead and mentor a team of video editors, motion designers, and producers, fostering a culture of creativity and collaboration.
• Establish and grow Superside’s Cape Town video production hub, ensuring operational excellence and delivering high-quality outputs efficiently.
• Experiment with new formats, styles, and approaches to maximize audience engagement and campaign performance.
• Collaborate closely with the broader Marketing and Creative teams to ensure seamless integration of video content into advertising strategies.
• Travel occasionally for on-location shoots, campaigns, or industry events as required.

• Proven experience directing video content for advertising and marketing, with a strong portfolio showcasing impactful campaigns and productions.
• Foundational knowledge of video production and editing, with the ability to handle basic shoots, drafts, and initial edits when needed.
• Strong creative and art direction skills, with a clear vision for producing high-impact video content.
• Strategic mindset, capable of aligning video production with broader business goals and marketing strategies.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and mentor creative teams, fostering a high-performing, collaborative environment.
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with experience managing multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines.
• In-house experience in marketing or creative functions, preferably within a B2B or SaaS environment.
• Based in or near Cape Town, South Africa, with availability for in-person collaboration and studio production.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for campaigns, shoots, or industry events.
• Comfortable appearing on camera for branded content or ads to add a personal touch to Superside’s video marketing.
