Responsible for driving the vision, strategy, business requirements, roadmap, and execution for assigned digital product portfolio or platform and the corresponding product teams. Advocates for the end user experience through data and research-driven product discovery and development methods. Ensures alignment between Product, Business and Platform/Channel priorities in context of TEGNA’s overall strategy and goals, while ensuring the end-user needs are met. Oversees the entire life cycle of the assigned product, from setting the vision, managing team to hit OKRs, deriving feature intention maps, managing capacity against scope, building/acquiring the technology - and ultimately creating a best in class user/customer experience, while on time and within budget. Leads using Agile product methodologies. Works with IT, Experience Design, Content, Marketing, and leaders. Manages a cross-functional team, including experts in design, engineering, and others. Recruits, hires, and mentors members of the team.

Responsibilities:
•    Responsible for driving the product portfolio or platform strategy, vision, design, and development execution
•    Ensures delivery of high-value products in alignment with business goals and user experience optimization
•    Identifies, ecruits/hires, and mentors high performing product managers and related roles
•    Balances competing priorities to maximize consumer and business value
•    Fosters a culture of empowered teams via agile methodologies and servant leadership
•    Leads a high performing cross-functional team effectively and efficiently that is collaborative with business partners, customers, and other stakeholders (Sales, Marketing, Content)
•    Ability to establish deep partnerships with business stakeholders to ensure product achieves business requirements and aligns to other organizational strategies and priorities
•    Leverages market and customer feedback and data to inform and guide future product/feature development
•    Advocates for end-users, and builds and improves features based on their pain points - strives to make product technology and workflows easy to use
•    Proactively manages and monitors product and operational risks (regulatory, security, operational, etc.) in order to prevent and/or mitigate risks to the customer and business
•    Monitors and manages product schedules, scopes and budgets and delivers as scheduled.
•    Manages resource Budgeting (Financial, People, other)
•    Manages external TEGNA vendor and partnership relationships as assigned
•    Sets and manages to product performance scorecards and OKRs
•    Represents TEGNA in a positive light with external partners and vendors
•    Quickly builds credibility and partnership with key internal partners and leaders

Digital Acumen
•    Demonstrates leadership in effectively aligning business capabilities and customer journeys with technology solutions that optimize end results in a cost-effective way, while having an eye toward the future and scale
•    Understands and applies current digital technology design, build, and operations capabilities and requirements
•    Effectively communicates and translates a product vision, strategy, and design with engineering partners in order to optimize delivery of the desired results
•    Utilizes futuristic thinking (ability to see trends and opportunities and to capitalize on them)
•    Actively seeks to understand new and emerging technologies, their capabilities, pros/cons, and potential applicability to TEGNA digital product and platform needs (now & future)
•    Demonstrates Experienced in design thinking methodologies
•    Uses creative problem solving to create software solutions that are simple, engaging and create value to end users.
•    Guides and leads complex engineering teams

Requirements
•    Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships at multiple levels of the organization
•    Works collaboratively across all consumer domains, business partners
•    Strong communicator (written & verbal) with active listening skills

•    10+ years of product management experience, with minimum 5 years in relevant digital product management
•    Experience in managing complex products & enterprise capabilities or a family of multiple products

Our 401(k) program offers full, part-time and temporary employees the opportunity to contribute 1% - 80% of their pay on a pre-tax basis to TEGNA’s 401(k). Contributions made up to the first 4% of pay are eligible for a 100% match from the company and are 100% vested from day one.

Regardless of participation in TEGNA medical plans, ALL employees and their eligible family members receive nine free virtual doctor’s appointments with a physician through Teladoc, and 12 free annual therapy sessions with a licensed clinician through Spring Health.

TEGNA offers a generous Paid Time Off (PTO) benefit as well as nine paid holidays per year.
