This opening is for a hybrid position in York, PA.

The Data Engineering Team Lead provides people and technology leadership to the data engineering team. As Team Lead, you will set the operational and technical direction for the team; manage and mentor team members; and take ownership of complex tasks. You will work towards the continuous improvement of the people, process, and technology behind CountySuite.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Manage & mentor data engineering team members
• Own strategic & day-to-day output of data engineering team
• Invest in new & existing talent to ensure a strong, flexible team
• Recruit, screen, & onboard new team members
• Write T-SQL & C# .NET code
• Administer SQL Server & related server components
• Serve as SME for database design, optimization, & maintenance
• Develop according to best practices, design patterns, & code standards
• Deliver high-quality work product free of bugs or defects
• Collaborate with project & product advocates to define & refine requirements
• Build professional partnership with customer stakeholders as needed
• Receive feedback from customers while adhering to defined project scope
• Interpret project & product requirements as documented in work items
• Optimize database systems for scalability & performance
• Build repeatable ETL capabilities
• Execute data migration workflows for new customers
• Participate in code review to constructively provide & receive peer feedback
• Collaborate with peers & leaders to mitigate risks & overcome obstacles
• Participate in continuous improvement process, contributing both ideas & effort
• Adopt a collaborative, solution-oriented attitude towards problem solving
• Provide people management and operational leadership to Data Engineers

Education and Experience:

• Professional experience as a leader of data engineers, DBAs, or similar
• Proficiency with programming languages & concepts
• Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server & related concepts
• Familiarity with various software development methodologies & patterns
• Demonstrated ability to produce a functional enterprise ETL workflow
• Demonstrated ability to develop & implement process
• Strong executive function (organization, collaboration, communication, etc.)
• Strong analytical & problem-solving skills
• Professional experience with the following technologies:
  T-SQL, C#, .NET Framework & .NET Core, .NET Entity Framework
• Professional experience with the following tools: SQL Server, SSMS, SSIS, Visual Studio / Code, Git SCM, Azure DevOps
