🌟 Join Our Team as a Finance Systems and Automation Specialist 🌟

We are seeking a highly motivated Finance Systems and Automation Specialist to join our finance team. This role is instrumental in driving innovation and efficiency by building, maintaining, and enhancing Python-based tools and solutions for automating finance processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for streamlining workflows and improving data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership

  • Lead a small team of System Analysts, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure the successful delivery of system-related projects and solutions.

Automation Development and Maintenance:

  • Build and maintain Python-based automation tools for reconciliation preparation and review processes.
  • Develop and refine income statement review tools to identify and address anomalies efficiently.
  • Create and sustain big data extraction, cleansing, and transformation pipelines to support finance processes.

Innovation and Process Improvement:

  • Contribute to the automation of routine finance tasks, reducing manual effort and increasing accuracy.
  • Implement efficient and innovative solutions for complex computational and data-related challenges.
  • Learn, test, and adopt new technologies to enhance existing tools and workflows.

Data Management and Analysis:

  • Onboard, organise, and optimise new and existing data sets to improve accessibility and usability.
  • Build and implement analytics tools to drive insights and improve financial decision-making.
  • Conduct back testing and analysis to improve process effectiveness and outcomes.

Infrastructure and Support:

  • Assist in the deployment and verification of upgrades to custom applications and technical infrastructure.
  • Proactively address monitoring alerts and develop monitoring platforms to enhance operational reliability.
  • Provide support for technical issues related to finance automation tools and processes.

Collaboration and Strategy Development:

  • Support the launch of new strategies and models within the finance team.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for automation and process improvement.

Support post-implementation activities to ensure effective clearing and accurate record-keeping

Your Profile:

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 3+ years of work experience.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, with experience in data analysis, automation, and process improvement.
  • Familiarity with financial processes, including reconciliations, income statement analysis, and data management.
  • Experience with big data tools and technologies for extraction, transformation, and analysis.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
  • A passion for technology, automation, and continuous learning.
  • Experience with Azure, Dynamics 365 and Snowflake advantageous.

Qualifications:

  • "Newly qualified in systems, programming, computer science, or a related discipline, or possessing equivalent practical experience."

Location  

We are ideally seeking exceptional candidates to be based in Cape Town who are able to commute to the office at least 2 days a week.
