Come join our team! We are hiring for an Patient Access Clinical Assistant (Bi-Lingual English/Spanish Preferred).
Job Summary
The Patient Access Clinical Assistant provides clinical support for the Patient Access team, primarily the Patient Support Center (PSC) Nursing team. This role will be responsible for providing patients with timely and accurate negative lab test results, as established by SDO policies and procedures when interpreting lab results. This role will also provide ancillary clinical support for the PSC Nursing team and other members of the PSC Team, as needed. This position is a mainly a remote role but we do require some in person days for training and events. Applicant must live in Texas and preferably in the Austin, San Antonio or Dallas metro areas. This position is currently funded through August 31, 2026. Continued employment is contingent upon future funding beyond this date. Ninety-day notification will be provided if this position is no longer funded.
· Follow the organizations clinical SDOs, policies and procedures when interpreting and releasing lab test results to patients, including appropriate processing for abnormal labs
· Assist nursing team with processing medication refill requests for provider review
· Follow Texas DSHS notifiable condition reporting requirements
· Ensure accurate documentation of all result consultations with patients are recorded in the patient’s medical record
· Serves as main contact for health department records requests and assists PSC Team in gathering necessary medical records prior to patient visit
· Managing the shipping, follow up and resolution of STI testing kits sent to patients for virtual services
· Maintain accurate, clear and concise progress notes, problem lists, and medication list

· Ability to apply time management practices to prioritize, schedule and complete work effectively to comply with mandated policies and deadlines
· Must be able to work productively with other departments and employees
· Works full 40 hour schedule as assigned which may include weekend hours, in high peak times
· Serve as liaison between patients, clinicians and our pharmacy and laboratory partners
· Participate in staff planning, in-service and other meetings as needed
· Foster teamwork and participate in staff meetings, in-services and other meetings as needed
· Perform other duties as assigned
Based on job duties and requirements, this position is placed in our salary band 38, with a hourly pay range of $20.80 per hour. Initial placement will be based on hired candidate's qualifications and relevant experience.
Education and/or Licensure – H.S. Diploma or equivalent work experience required as well as credentials as a Certified Nurse Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant and 1+ years of experience in that capacity.
Experience – 1 year patient care experience in an outpatient medical clinic setting required. Experience with LGBTQIA+ and/or other marginalized communities a strong plus. Microsoft Office Skills with an ability to become familiar with company or position specific programs or software.
Additional Preferred Requirements – Bilingual (Spanish), Experience in telephonic patient care. Experience in HIV testing, HIV services, STI testing and treatment.
