The Class is seeking a Senior Designer to join our team as we elevate and grow the brand globally. This pivotal creative role will lead design projects from concept to execution. Working directly with the Founder to translate, root and enhance a thoughtful, curated brand viz ID across all channels and formats, from web and social to art direction and and in-studio. The Senior Designer will collaborate across teams, working daily with Marketing, Product, Experience and Production to deliver design assets across a wide-variety of organizational objectives while maintaining exceptional quality and brand consistency. The ideal candidate is a talented hands-on go-getter who has a blend of creative vision, technical expertise, and passion for creating excellent design. This role is a perfect-fit for an experienced designer who is ready to take on leadership responsibilities while continuing to push creative boundaries through their own designs.
What you’ll do:
Establish and maintain a clear, thoughtful, consistent visual language that aligns with the brand’s identity and positioning.
Lead all design projects from ideation and concept development through asset creation and design execution.
Create design assets to serve a wide-variety of business needs across digital, product, ad, social, print and other experiential platforms, from day-to-day asset creation to larger creative endeavors.
Work closely with the VP of Digital Marketing and VP of Product to understand project requirements and efficiently deliver high-quality creative solutions.
Partner with the Director of Project Management to establish project timelines, allocate design resources effectively, and ensure deadlines are met aligned to overall organizational priorities.
Develop design templates and self-service tools for routine creative requests to empower stakeholders across the business to effectively create routine assets within brand guidelines.
Who you are:
You are an exceptional visual storyteller and hands-on designer with deep skills in typography, color theory, and graphic design.
You’re a skilled communicator and team player with the ability to inspire others and communicate ideas effectively.
You understand how to analyze business needs and translate them into compelling visual solutions.
You are creative, scrappy, and resourceful – capable of working with agility and discretion to manage multiple projects and priorities under tight deadlines.
A self-starter who is obsessed with excellent design, excited to grow a global brand, and excited to balance active designing with creative conception.
Ability to work from the NYC office at least 3 days a week
A minimum of 5 years of experience in graphic design or a similar role.
Strong portfolio showcasing a range of creative projects across different mediums. Applications without portfolio links will not be considered.
A high-level of proficiency with design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
Experience working in fast-paced, founder-led, digitally-native start-up environments.
Familiarity with project planning and project management software such as Asana and Miro is a plus.
Familiarity with web-based tools (Figma, Sanity, Shopify, Klaviyo) a plus.
Video and photo shoot, production, and editing experience is a plus.
The approximate salary range for this position is $80,000–$110,000. The exact salary offered may vary based on job-related factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to: skill set, experience, education and training, business needs, and market demands.
