Job Description

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Construction Project Manager to lead and manage construction projects from start to finish. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the project, including budgeting, scheduling, coordinating teams, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. You will collaborate closely with business leaders, architects, contractors, and vendors to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction management, excellent communication skills, and the ability to navigate complex project requirements while solving problems efficiently.

This position requires the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, anticipate challenges, and ensure effective collaboration across all teams involved. You will be a key point of contact for stakeholders, keeping them informed on project progress, milestones, and any potential setbacks. The role also demands a proactive approach to risk management and the resolution of issues as they arise, making it essential for the Construction Project Manager to have a strong analytical and solution-driven mindset.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establish and maintain project schedules and timelines.
  • Collaborate with business and department leaders to develop project priority list. 
  • Create annual budget for construction projects.
  • Estimate preliminary budget numbers for each project.
  • Review and ensure accuracy, consistency, and clarity of construction documents provided by design team. 
  • Communicate bid documents and collect competitive bids from general contractors and/or trade professionals.
  • Work with architect and general contractor/trade professional(s) to obtain necessary permitting in compliance with local rules and regulations.    
  • Monitor and manage critical path checkpoints and work with business leaders to ensure all elements of the project are in sync with the timeline of the project.  
  • Continuously update relevant business stakeholders of project milestones and/or setbacks.
  • Coordinate, order, and schedule delivery for internally supplied construction materials necessary for the project.
  • Document, manage, and resolve change orders, material requests and/or other project concerns/setbacks.
  • Review, code, and approve invoices relevant to construction projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support organizational growth and adapt to evolving needs. 
  • Up to 25% Travel is required

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of combined experience working in construction management and/or project management. 
  • Experience with coordinating and leading teams with diverse experience and backgrounds.  
  • Strong interpersonal interaction and teamwork with a customer service orientation.
  • Capability to coordinate and collaborate across internal and external partners.
  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a fast moving, problem-solving environment

SKILLS/EXPERTISE:

  • Understanding of current construction practices and general building codes.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (i.e., excel, word, teams, etc.), and Smartsheet.
  • PMI certification or equivalent preferred.
  • In depth understanding of project management concepts.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent facilitation, collaboration, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to anticipate risks and devise solutions in the moment.
  • Strong team leadership skills.
  • Strong knowledge of business processes, program and project management methodologies.
