About the Position
The Chain Sales Manager (CSM) is responsible for achieving both qualitative and quantitative sales objectives within the Northern California Off-Premise Chain Retail Account Universe. As the primary point of contact for the distributor’s NorCal Chain Field Sales Merchandising division and Tito’s-dedicated Brand Development Specialist (BDS) sales team, the CSM will build and maintain high-impact sales relationships with retail chain customers.
The CSM will lead General Sales Meetings (GSMs) and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs). They will also develop and distribute sales tools that align with brand standards for sales representation and in-store sales display execution. This role collaborates closely with the distributor to design impactful sales initiatives, leveraging National and Local sales events, cross-merchandising opportunities, and brand objectives to achieve or exceed state sales goals.
Additionally, the CSM oversees key sales resources, including budgets and POS inventory, to ensure seamless sales plan execution. They will work with State and Field Sales Managers to provide actionable feedback and recommendations on local sales initiatives.
Location: Must be located in East Bay, California. Up to 80% travel required within the Northern California region.
Core Responsibilities:
- Lead field sales execution management and drive sales in the assigned region
- Leverage sales analytical tools to develop and deliver fact-based selling presentations and sales programming recommendations
- Set and monitor sales goals with the distributor to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual targets
- Collaborate with the State Sales Manager to provide updates on sales progress and programming
- Partner with State and Field Sales Managers to ensure effective communication and execution of National Account sales programming
- Lead monthly sales reviews with the RNDC CA Regional Chain Sales team to address planner execution, sales programs, and successful best practices
- Manage regional POS ordering and monitor distributor warehouse inventory
- Drive sales solicitation efforts at key National and Regional accounts, ensuring planner compliance and exceptional display execution
- Focus sales efforts on key accounts, including Regional Accounts (Save Mart, Raley’s, Nugget) and National Accounts (Safeway, BevMo, Total Wine, Walmart, Target, CVS, Winco)
- Minimum 5 years of off-premise selling experience; multi-outlet sales experience preferred
- Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience
- Demonstrated success in coaching and leading teams toward shared goals
- Willingness to travel domestically (up to 80%) within the region
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proven ability to solve problems and independently drive innovative initiatives in dynamic market conditions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. MS Teams, Outlook, Power Point). Expertise with Excel is highly desirable
- Experience with analytical platforms such as iDig, MicroStrategy, and TABS is a plus
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to deliver compelling presentations, negotiate effectively, and build strong relationships
- Must have a valid US Driver’s License, safe driving record and access to a reliable vehicle to be used for work purposes
