About Us:

Toolkit Tutors is a provider of in-school and after-school tutoring services, focused on enhancing student learning through personalized instruction and dedicated support.

Job Description:

Pay: $30/hr

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Algebra I and Biology (Living Environment) tutor to join our team in Queens. In this role, you will provide in-person tutoring to high school students during the school day, helping them master Living Environment and Algebra I concepts and prepare for assessments.

Compensation and Schedule:

  • Target launch date April 1, 2025
  • Schedule of Monday - Friday, 5 hours each day
  • Pay of $30 per hour, including paid sick leave

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct individualized tutoring sessions to help students prepare for the Algebra I and Living Environment Regents exams in June
  • Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to meet the unique needs of each student, including English Language Learners.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and support as needed.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and resources to keep students engaged.
  • Collaborate with teachers and school staff to facilitate a supportive learning environment.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (or currently pursuing a degree) in Education, Mathematics, Biology, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in tutoring or teaching Algebra I or Living Environment to high school students
  • Familiarity with the New York State Regents exams.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
