About the role:

Transmax has grown significantly over the last 2 years, and we are not slowing down!

We are continuing to expand and are now recruiting for an Assistant Accountant on a maternity leave cover role for 12 months max-term.

Joining our finance team, your role will be taking over responsibility of the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions and general accounting duties of moderate difficulty in relation to depth of analysis and use of judgment

A snapshot of your day-to-day:

• Processing of accruals, prepayments and subsequent month end journals.

• Prepare accurate and timely reconciliations, with supportive documentation, for monthly and year end close.
• Assist with profit and loss variance analysis.
• Maintain and run depreciation of end of month fixed assets.
• Completion of half monthly and monthly bank reconciliations for all accounts.
• Managing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions.
• Reconciliation of accounts receivable ledger, accounts payable ledger, bank accounts, foreign currency payments.
• Assistance with payroll processing.
• Managing stakeholder expectations and requirements relating to the Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable functions.
• Assisting with internal and external audits.
• Ensuring compliance to Transmax policies/procedures.
• Assistance on organisational projects and provision of ad-hoc analysis as required.
• Provide cover for our reception when needed.

About You:

We are seeking a highly organised Assistant Accountant with a demonstrated background in this field.

You will be a motivated self-starter and ideally hold a qualification in Accounting or Finance and be working towards a membership of a recognised accounting body such as CPA Australia or Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.

Your toolkit for success will include:

• 2 - 4 years of accounting experience.
• Understanding of accounting principles.
• Quick and accurate data entry.
• Proficiency in using Office suite, particularly Excel and Word.
• Ability to problem solve and multi-task.
• Ability to manage stakeholders and service providers including customers, regulators, auditors, financial institutions, and suppliers.
• Ideally you will have ability to communicate financial information to all audiences as well as experience in Salesforce/Financial Force.
