Matrix New World has an exciting opportunity for a strategic and experienced Director of Surveying who will oversee a high-performing Survey Department poised for significant growth over the next year. This role is critical to support the growth strategy of a professional services company specializing in engineering and environmental services expected to grow to $500 million in revenue.  


What you’ll get to do:
  • Manage a dynamic survey team located in New York and New Jersey who specialize in topographic survey, 3D scanning, boundary survey and bathymetric survey. 
  • Use your knowledge of the public and private sector to develop business throughout NY and NJ for a company experiencing massive growth. 
  • Leverage your significant project management experience to deliver best-in-class projects for our portfolio of existing clients.   
  • Manage and direct up to 8 survey crews at a time on exciting projects for a wide range of clients, as well as a staff of CAD techs and PMs. 
  • Act as a subject matter expert to clients and to mentor and develop junior staff. 


Minimum Qualifications
  • Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) in New York and New Jersey. 
  • 10 years of experience in topographic survey, 3D scanning, boundary survey and bathymetric survey. 
  • 5 years of experience delivering projects for public agencies and private clients. 
  • 5 years of hands-on experience with Leica Infinity, Cyclone, MicroStation and AutoCAD Civil 3D. 


Preferred Qualifications
  • RPLS in additional states. 
  • Polished presentation skills. 
  • Excellent organizational abilities. 
  • Proficiency in Adobe suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Teams.
