Its product line includes motors, linear drives, digital drives, custom assemblies, and products to fit unique applications and ground-up system design and manufacturing solutions.  We design, build and support control and power management systems for the most demanding defense, semiconductor, industrial automation, and medical applications.

Job Summary

The primary purposes of this job are:

1) Ensure the timely creation and release of CAD models and drawings of custom parts and assemblies (On Time Delivery objective).

2) Efficiently maintain the source design data over a product’s lifecycle to allow streamlined design improvements and reduced realization costs (Continuous Improvement objective).

3) Directly contribute to internal data management processes that integrate and optimize Trust’s unique capabilities between design and manufacturing (Quality objective). You will be involved in product design, CAD drafting, and detailing component and assembly documentation.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • During product design and product change phases, collaborate and communicate with design development and manufacturing engineering functions to ensure accurate and reliable outputs (CAD models and drawing documentation) to downstream functions along the product realization path
  • Offer input as well as take direction within a cross-functional team environment that includes production, quality assurance and inspection, buyers, change control, and document control
  • Review existing/legacy designs and models and update them to clean and current configurations
  • Develop, standardize, and improve modeling and drawing approaches based on industry-recognized methods
  • Iterate custom-designed parts, assemblies, and fabrication files to current configuration upon Engineering Change Order approval
  • Develop solutions with stakeholder functions for improving data management processes, for example:
    • part/document numbering
    • revision/configuration management
    • drawing release process
    • external file (vendor and customer) management
    • automated data push/pull with other data management systems like MRP

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 2-5 yrs. experience in a technical field, or 5-9 years relevant experience
  • Proficiency with Solidworks and Solidworks PDM
  • A mature understanding of Solidworks configuration control, specification and source control drawings, templates, part/assembly meta data, design-critical/key characteristics, etc.
  • Frequent use of Microsoft Office applications
  • Self-motivated:  own your work with an awareness of its contribution towards the end goal
  • Resourceful:  ability to timely seek solution paths when a decision fork occurs
  • Professional:  written and verbal interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent arithmetic and logic ability
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain the day-to-day information required to develop or manufacture products and keep the satisfaction of our customers at its highest level

Physical Requirements

  • Hearing and speaking to exchange information in person, on the telephone or virtually
  • Dexterity of hands, fingers, and wrist to operate a computer keyboard, calculator, or assemble/manufacture intricate items
  • Seeing to read a variety of materials
  • Sitting or standing for extended period of time
  • Physical agility to lift up to 50 pounds to shoulder height. Any items that weigh more than 50 pounds will require two or more people or a lifting device to move
  • Physical agility to lift, carry, push, or pull objects

Pay/Salary Information

Pay scale for this position - $33.71- $40.00 Hourly
