Job Summary
The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all products, processes, and materials meet the stringent quality standards required by AS9100 and ISO9001 certifications. This role involves inspecting incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards. The inspector will document and report any non-conformities and work closely with the Quality Assurance and Engineering teams to resolve issues.
Duties and Responsibilities

Inspection:
- Inspect raw materials, components, subassemblies, and final products visually to detect surface defects, such as scratches, cracks, or discolorations, using magnification tools when necessary.
- Use precision instruments like micrometers, calipers, gauges, and CMMs to measure dimensions of parts and ensure they meet engineering specifications and tolerances.
- Perform first article inspections (FAI) for new products or revised designs.
- Inspect products at various stages of the production process to ensure they comply with predefined quality standards.
- Identify any deviations early to prevent non-conforming products from advancing to the next stage.
- Conduct final inspections on completed products before shipment, ensuring they meet all customer and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare inspection reports and certify products for shipment.
Non-Conformance Management:
- Document all instances of non-conformance in detail, including the nature of the defect, the affected product, and the steps taken to isolate and control the issue.
- Work closely with Quality Engineers to determine the root cause of non-conformances.
- Assist in implementing corrective actions and verify their effectiveness through follow-up inspections
Documentation and Reporting:
- Accurately document inspection results, non-conformities, and corrective actions in the quality management system.
- Maintain accurate and thorough records of all inspections, including detailed logs of findings, measurement data, and any corrective actions taken.
- Ability to comprehend drawing specifications, packing slips, invoices, and other customer supplied data
- Responsible for reviewing product documentation, ensuring that all inspections and test meet customer and regulatory requirements, and issuing the Certification of Conformance (CoC).
Compliance and Standards
- Ensure that all inspected products and processes comply with AS9100 and ISO9001 standards, as well as any customer-specific requirements.
- Verify that manufacturing processes adhere to relevant industry regulations, and report any non-compliance issues to the Quality Engineer.
Quality Management System (QMS) Support:
- Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of the QMS.
- Contribute to developing and refining quality assurance policies and procedures.
Position Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in Quality Assurance is preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in quality inspection within the semiconductor or aerospace industry.
- Strong knowledge of AS9100 and ISO9001 standards and their application in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in using inspection tools and equipment (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMM).
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to identify and document non-conformities.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with quality management software.
- Certification in J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610 is a plus.
Physical Requirements

- Dexterity of hands, fingers, and wrist to operate a computer keyboard, calculator or assemble/manufacture intricate items.

Pay/Salary Information
Pay scale for this position - $24.06 - $28.00 Hourly
