Job Description

Turner & Townsend Heery is seeking an Associate Project Manager K-12 Construction reporting to the Construction Manager of Capital Improvements or their designee, the position provides complete management of multiple projects from design to construction through project closeout.

Responsibilities: Assistant Project Manager K-12 Construction Roles and Responsibilities: (Tasks may include the following and other related duties.)

  • Assists the Project Managers with various tasks associated with project delivery (field support, change management, document control and safety) on multiple project assignments.
  • Reviews and recommends approvals of pay applications and invoices from contractors, architects, and consultants. Confirms billing accuracy from both an accounting and progress completion standpoint.
  • Assists Project Manager in facilitation of client task order contracts and purchase orders.
  • Establishes contractor and consultants in the program management information system (e.g. Procore).
  • Reviews program management information system (SPLOST reports) for accuracy.
  • Tracks financial information as needed.
  • Maintains all records and files electronically on behalf of the Program Management team.
  • Coordinates project meetings and ensures meeting minutes are recorded by responsible team members.
  • Coordinates and tracks each project’s closeout documentation and ensures compliance with contract requirements.
  • Assists in managing budgets, schedules, scope development, design and construction contracts, documents, procedures, and controls for assigned projects.
  • Visits project sites on regular and or periodic basis to document progress.
  • Assists the Project Managers as needed in coordinating consultant and contractor activities at each job site and communicating with other client’s department.
  • Helps to ensure proper flow and timely approval of submittals, request for information (RFIs), drawing submissions in the program management system.
  • Manages special projects as assigned by the team’s leadership.
  • Assists the Project Manager in tracking contingency and allowance usage.
  • Responsible for timely input of requisitions/PO modifications, budget adjustments, new project initiation.
  • Implements, manages, and monitors procedures for cost and document control systems.
  • Prepares periodic project progress and reports as needed.
  • Provides training and support to the project teams (both internal and external) for the program management information system(s).
  • Assists project assistant in the quality control of cost-related items submitted to the client, including proposals, invoices, and changes.
  • Assist Project Managers in coordinating field activities.
  • Responsible for overall project delivery (scope, cost, schedule, quality, safety, information management) on assigned projects in conjunction with the Project Managers.
  • Assists in writing standard operating procedures for the team.
  • Provide analytics as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

****100% Onsite. Office presence required.

Qualifications

  • The Education and/or Experience for this position includes a bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction management or related field.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of construction experience with preference to working with large programs and or projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Documented experience in managing and prioritizing multiple projects and multiple project managers along with strong organizational skills.
