As a Laboratory Assistant you will be responsible for performing various laboratory tests involving soil, concrete and asphalt samples.
Job Responsibilities:
· Prepare and test samples of concrete and soils to determine their properties, including strength, durability, permeability, and other mechanical properties.
· Conduct tests on materials used in construction, such as aggregates, cement, and asphalt
· Responsible for maintaining and calibrating laboratory equipment, ensuring that all testing procedures are performed accurately, and recording and analyzing data.
· Responsible for writing reports and communicating findings to engineers
Required Qualifications:
· High School Diploma or equivalent
· Experience working outdoors
· Must be at least 18 years old for entry onto job sites, must be able to lift up to 80 pounds repeatedly
· Ability to read and write, ability to use a computer
· Willingness to complete additional training or certification programs such as ACI, ASTM, and AASHTO’s, to specialize in concrete and soils testing
Preferred Qualifications:
ACI, ASTM, and AASHTO’s Certifications
