Job Description

We are hiring a PRN Physical Therapy Technician to join our team!  You will assist in planning and ongoing assessment and provide treatment according to the treatment plan of patients the Physical Therapist has evaluated.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist physical therapists with patient care.
  • Helps treat patients by applying heat packs, helping patients onto exercise equipment, monitoring motion, and performing prescribed exercises and strengthening techniques.
  • Provides equipment and supplies by sterilizing and delivering them to the treatment area, positioning equipment for therapist access, and positioning the patient on the equipment.
  • Keeps a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Ensures operation of physical therapy equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer's instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs.
  • Maintains physical therapy supplies inventory by checking stock to determine the inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders, and verifying receipt of supplies.
  • Watch the patient’s development during therapy sessions and note how the patient responds.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ year of experience in a medical environment, ideally in a physical or occupational therapy setting.
  • Ability to lift, lower, push, pull, and retrieve objects weighing at least 30 pounds of medical supplies and equipment and transferring and repositioning patients.
