Job Title: Local League Assistant Coordinator

Purpose
USTA New England is seeking a full-time Local League Assistant Coordinator to assist with coordinating & administering recreational adult tennis leagues in New Hampshire, to coordinate local leagues on Cape Cod & the Islands, and to support tennis growth in New England. This position ensures the successful administration, delivery, growth and inclusivity of recreational adult league tennis programs, supporting league captains, players, and facilities, while working in alignment with USTA New England's mission and values.
This is a non-exempt position scheduled to work 35 hours per week. The position will also be required to work local league events, including select championships throughout the year.
As a key team member, the Local League Assistant Coordinator will support all aspects of the league lifecycle—from registration and scheduling to player recruitment—while leveraging insights to facilitate growth. Responsibilities
- Administer adult recreational tennis leagues (USTA League) in assigned communities to ensure successful coordination, delivery and retention of the program and its participants. This includes:
- Assist with coordinating recreational, adult league tennis (USTA Leagues) in New Hampshire under the leadership of the League Development Manager.
- Promote and administer USTA Leagues in the Cape & Islands to ensure successful delivery and growth of the program. This includes but is not limited to:
- Utilize league scheduling and registration tools to streamline team/player registration, court availability tracking, and schedule development.
- Coordinate and attend meetings with volunteer committees and team leads (captains), potential players, community members, teaching professionals, facilities, and other tennis providers to promote recreational adult league tennis.
- Proactively recruit and retain volunteer captains with tailored support and training programs.
- Identify and mitigate barriers to participation, ensuring inclusivity in league programming.
- Communicate with facilities on availability and set and administer schedules.
- Ensure compliance of local procedures and regulations when administering the program.
- Familiarize and communicate local league information to participants accurately.
- Identify and resolve local league issues.
- Monitor compliance with Section and National regulations through various reports, including the move-up/split-up and score entry status reports
- Collaborate with the Local League Coordinator in Eastern Massachusetts to support growth in Southeastern Massachusetts.
- Administrative & Processing:
- Provide administrative support for the Central League Grievance Committee and NTRP Committees.
- Assist in supporting qualified volunteers for the review and decision-making process of NTRP appeals and grievance committees.
- Provide guidance to new members of the self-rate review panel and grievance committees on processes and procedures.
- Assist with composing and distributing decision letters, ensuring a positive and professional customer experience.
- Support customers through the self-rate process by directing them to appropriate local programming and resources.
- Daily processing of dynamic disqualification and promotion reports on business days.
- Provide customer service to internal & external customers in compliance with organizational standards.
- Assist in development of programs to encourage unique and total participation growth.
- Support current and recruit new volunteer captains. Provide appropriate support for captains and players.
- Execute local promotional and marketing tactics utilizing assets and resources approved by the Marketing department.
- Build relationships with partners, players, and other stakeholders to support the growth of tennis in alignment with organizational goals.
- Keep the supervisor informed of issues, decisions, and progress. Submit updated goals and activity reports regularly.
- Distribute program participation surveys, analyze findings, and make actionable recommendations to strengthen the player experience.
- Make recommendations and where not available outline standard program operating procedures when administering the program.
- Provide on-site support at select in person events and programming.

- How many hours does this position work? The schedule for this position is remote flexible, but must be done in coordination with supervisor. This position may require occasional in-office presence, will require occasional weekend work and travel. This position is a full-time, non-exempt position that works up to 35 hours per week.
- How much does this position pay? This position is non-exempt and pays between $19-$22 per hour.
- Who does this position work with? The assistant coordinator position will work with USTA New England League staff and staff members from other departments within the organization.
- Does this position require travel? This position will require light travel occasionally to our main office in Westborough, Massachusetts and throughout the territories they support. This position may be required to work program events that require travel.
