Technical Sourcer II (Contract)

Our initial crewed space habitat will be Haven-1, scheduled to be the world’s first commercial space station when it launches into low earth orbit in May 2026. Vast is on a mission to revolutionize space exploration, and we’re looking for a Technical Sourcer II to help us build the future! Reporting to our Talent Sourcing Manager, you’ll play a key role in connecting us with the most talented and innovative engineers in the industry—people who not only push the boundaries of space and engineering but also inspire us to do our best work.

This will be a full-time, contract position located in our Long Beach location. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Utilize various sourcing techniques to identify and attract top aerospace and hardware engineering candidates
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of passive and active candidates for current and future hiring needs
  • Screen and assess candidates to ensure alignment with our technical hiring needs
  • Engage with potential candidates through compelling messaging and outreach and other creative avenues 
  • Conduct initial interviews to evaluate candidates’ qualifications and fit for our roles
  • Work closely with recruiters and hiring managers to understand their hiring needs, translating these requirements into a sourcing strategy
  • Experiment with creative sourcing tactics and continuously seek ways to improve outreach effectiveness

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience sourcing for aerospace and/or hardware engineering roles
  • Strong ability to work with urgency and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • A continuous improvement mindset—always looking for ways to refine processes and enhance results
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for innovative sourcing strategies

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Experience with Greenhouse
  • Demonstrated success sourcing in niche technical areas within space and hardware engineering
  • Self-directed with a high sense of urgency while maintaining a meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong relationship-building skills with a customer-service mindset.
  • Excellent communicator and problem solver
  • Ability to be flexible, adaptable, and maintain unwavering poise under pressure
  • Highly organized with a knack for building relationships
  • Sharp eye for detail and precision

Pay Range:

  • Technical Sourcer II: $45 - $65
  • Senior Technical Sourcer: $55 - $79
  • Staff Technical Sourcer: $59 - $85

$45$85 USD
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
 
Base salary will vary depending on job-related knowledge, education, skills, experience, business needs, and market demand. Salary is just one component of our comprehensive compensation package. U.S. EXPORT CONTROL COMPLIANCE STATUS

The person hired will have access to information and items subject to U.S. export controls, and therefore, must either be a “U.S. person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.62 or otherwise eligible for deemed export licensing. This status includes U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, lawful permanent residents (green card holders), and asylees and refugees with such status granted, not pending.
