What Will You Do as a Tactical Buyer?
As a German-speaking Tactical Buyer, you will be responsible for sourcing goods and services for the Indirect scope of the Vattenfall organization in Germany, covering the categories IT, HR, Facility Management (FM) and Contingent Workforce (CW) for the threshold of Tactical Sourcing. You will work closely with both your procurement colleagues and various business stakeholders from different business areas and visiting the Berlin office.

In this role, you’ll have the chance to make a meaningful difference in how we procure and collaborate, with a strong focus on sustainability, innovation, and digitalization. The Tactical Sourcing team has been recently insourced. This gives you the unique opportunity to contribute together with your colleagues to the setup and development of the new team, shaping its structure and processes.

As part of a team of seven members, you’ll be able to share ideas, shape processes, and enjoy a flexible, collaborative environment where everyone’s input is valued. The team is diverse, with colleagues from various backgrounds and nationalities, offering a rich working experience and a broad perspective on challenges and opportunities.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently manage the tactical procurement process for both goods and services for the Indirect scope, covering the categories IT, HR, Facility Management (FM) and Contingent Workforce (CW) for the threshold of Tactical Sourcing.
  • Conduct market research and select the right suppliers through tenders and negotiations.
  • Develop tender documentation in collaboration with business unit requesters.
  • Serve as a trusted partner to various departments, translating procurement goals into actionable plans and collaborating on cross-functional sourcing projects.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies and continuously seek improvements in the process.
  • Work closely with the legal department to draft and finalize contracts, ensuring alignment with Vattenfall’s regulations.
  • Contribute to growing and improving the indirect procurement team by engaging in cross-team initiatives.

Qualifications

Who are you? 

You have experience in a commercial or similar procurement role and a genuine interest in Procurement. You bring the following qualifications and skills:

  • Proficiency in both English and German, spoken and written.
  • Completion of a degree, preferably in a technical or business-related field.
  • A team player who is eager to learn and grow.
  • A good understanding of people and culture when working across multiple business functions.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with a focus on building trust and long-term relationships.
  • A service-oriented mindset with a proactive willingness to support and collaborate with business stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills, able to share ideas clearly, listen well, and adapt to different people.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills. An interest in technology, innovation, sustainability, and digitalization.
  • Interest in opportunities for improvement, embracing innovation, and inspiring others.
  • SAP knowledge (MM module) and experience or a willingness to learn.

Additional Information

Our offer
The height of your salary is based on your education and relevant work experience. The base salary for this position ranges from € 3.500,- to €4.500,- per month based on 38h. In addition to your salary, we offer a comprehensive secondary benefits package, the most important components of which are:

  • End of year bonus of 4.5% of your annual salary;
  • Profit sharing of up to 3.5% of your annual salary based on the results of Vattenfall Netherlands;
  • NS Business card for commuting or a travel allowance of €0.23 per km up to a maximum of 50 km one way;
  • 25 vacation days, 2.5 vitality days, and for a 38-hour contract and 40 hour workweek: 13 ADV (reduction of working hours) days;
  • Choice budget, which allows you to purchase or sell extra vacation days, buy a e-bicycle, or simply receive it as addition pay;
  • Education budget, because we believe it is important that you can continue to develop yourself.

At our company, hybrid working is the norm, meaning you will work at the office at least 50% of the time. Most of your colleagues prefer to work the remaining 50% of their time from home, but the choice is entirely yours.
