Where And How We Work
At VEED we are hybrid, enabling teams and individuals to design their day and integrate work and life. We require 1 day a week in office for London and Amsterdam-based employees and you have flexibility to decide which day.

About the role
As Senior People Specialist, you will be responsible for the maintenance and integrity of all HR operations processes and HR data globally - from daily administration to ongoing optimization - maintaining high standards of accuracy, compliance and operational efficiencies. You will support employee relations topics, managing cases end-to-end with Leaders and employees alike, with the support of the Senior Manager, People & Culture. You will also work in partnership with peers in Biz Ops, Finance and the wider People team, to co-develop and enhance our processes and policies.
What you will be doing:
HR Operations & Systems Management:
- Ownership of new hire onboarding processes including:
- Co-ordinating the visa sponsorship processes.
- Creation and management of contracts.
- Legal documentation collection (Right to Work, DBS applications etc) and validation.
- Setup of employee records in HRIS and payroll systems.
- Communication of start dates and probation periods to managers.
- End to end ownership of HR data integrity, administration and documentation, across the employee lifecycle (such as: contract changes / updates, promotions, terminations, org changes).
- Primary POC for People team inquiries (email and slack), triaging to appropriate contacts if unable to resolve directly.
- Leave administration for all absence types and return to work initiation, with relevant partners (e.g. co. doctor, social security, Deel).
- Define nomenclature, data element standards and response times for HR admin processes.
- Co-development of operational process optimization, including integration and automation across HRIS and ATS.
- Develop ongoing audits to ensure the accuracy, completeness and consistency of HR data across systems.
- Establish and manage an approval process for freelance, consultant and vendor contracts, in conjunction with relevant business partners.
General HR administration, such as:
- Drafting references and proof of employment letters.
- Ongoing upkeep of Miro company org chart on a monthly basis.
People Partnering & Compliance:
- Assist in the implementation and communication of HR policies, initiatives and programmes.
- Coach and advise People Leaders on employee relations / performance management topics, by addressing concerns and escalating issues when needed, to maintain a culture of raising the bar.
- Manage a range of course correction interventions, be that PIP’s, formal capability processes or possible terminations, ensuring a balanced approach to both commerciality and mitigating risk.
- Analyse HR data and provide insights to improve performance, engagement and productivity.
- Monitor regulatory and HR legislation changes, to ensure ongoing compliance with all statutory requirements for our workforce globally.
- Oversee relevant People related internal controls and processes, including management of Vanta, SOC, ISO and other audit and compliance requirements.
- Participate in internal and external audits and investigations, related to HR compliance.
- Act as liaison between legal and other external and internal partners, on relevant labour and People related compliance issues (ex: GDPR, Grievance or Whistleblower requirements, etc)
- Proactively identify and mitigate potential compliance risks, providing recommendations to leadership on process and/or policy changes or relevant business decisions.
About you
- You operate as a trusted partner to all People Leaders, pushing boundaries in their thinking and advising on the best people strategies, to drive performance within their teams.
- You have hands-on experience working with HRIS Systems, ensuring data integrity and the smooth running of the HR administration function. Our current stack is Revolut People, Deel and Greenhouse - experience here is a bonus but not necessary!
- You are clear, structured, articulate and succinct in your communication and love problem solving.
- You are a hard worker but know when to prioritise. Start-up life is not a typical 9 to 5, and sometimes urgent tasks can be needed outside of normal hours. You’re happy to make that work but also know when things can wait!
- You are self directed, can prioritise, manage your time and enjoy process optimization.
- You are organised, have an eye for detail and don’t let things slip.
- You are intellectually curious, proactive, and able to take ownership.
- You are comfortable operating as an individual contributor while having strong influencing skills.
- You are interested in continual development and learning.There will be opportunities to expand your knowledge of Human Resources and People Operations more broadly.
