As a Building Envelope Consultant at Walker, you will work on projects including:
· Managing various building envelope projects ranging from assessments and investigations to construction administration services and more.
· Assisting with business development and marketing activities, including developing client relationships, writing proposals, responding to requests, and participating in interviews.
· Manage the financial and schedule elements of the project.
· Maintaining strong relationships in the industry and with our clients.
· Preparing and presenting technical reports, memos, presentations, and other documents for our clients.
· Participating in networking activities and representing our firm at industry meetings and conferences.
Qualifications
Education Requirements:
· Bachelor's Degree (Master’s degree preferred) in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture or similar.
Other Requirements:
· 1 or more years of experience managing projects (schedule, budget, client relationships, deliverables).
· 3 years of experience in building envelope and/or waterproofing consulting experience.
· A professional license in architecture, structural or civil engineering or the ability to obtain licensure within 3 years is required.
· Strong writing, communication, and team skills are necessary.
· Willingness and ability to travel.
· Knowledge of various building enclosure systems, materials, and products including ASTM & AAMA standards and testing procedures.
· Knowledge of building science principles including technical analysis and modeling (THERM, WUFI).
