Fulfillment Center Manager

Exempt/Full-time/On-site

Reports to: Chief Operations Officer

Summary:

As the leader of the fulfillment team at Wantable, the Fulfillment Center Manager will be responsible for leading all functions of our Milwaukee fulfillment center. The Fulfillment Center Manager is responsible for ensuring all fulfillment activities are carried out efficiently and profitably. Responsible for developing, coaching, and overseeing a team of assistant managers and supervisors. This position reports to the Chief Operations Officer.

Primary Responsibilities: 

• Oversee the daily workflow of the fulfillment center including order picking, packing, returns processing, receiving, and inventory management/cycle counting.
• Organize and schedule staff to ensure proper staffing levels.
• Ensure efficient fulfillment center operations through collaboration and coordination with fulfillment center leadership as well as other departments.
• Ensure team members can accurately perform essential functions through effective coaching, training, and cross-functional development.
• Develop, recommend, and implement system improvements by analyzing processes, labor needs, space usage, and equipment.
• Research, identify, and present new ideas to improve fulfillment operations.
• Work closely with Human Resources to discuss hiring needs and employee relations issues.
• Handle discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
• Conduct timely and constructive performance evaluations.
• Attend and participate in regularly scheduled and impromptu meetings.
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, local, and company safety policies.

• Four-year degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years in a leadership role at a fulfillment center or similar operation with at least 100 employees.
• Know how to keep the customer at the forefront of every decision and action.
• Data-centric manager who relies on KPIs to measure individual and group performance. 
• Proven ability to develop a rapport with fellow managers, supervisors, and associates to inspire working toward a common goal.
• Elite problem-solving skills across a wide variety of daily operational challenges.
• Direct project experience in automating one or more operational functions.
• Experience working with technology providers, including an internal IT team, to implement technologies in fulfillment center operations.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage simultaneous projects and initiatives. 
• Strong ability to communicate and troubleshoot alongside all levels of an organization including associates, executives, technical teams, etc.
• Excellent computer skills, with the ability to pick up and learn new software quickly.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent supervisory and interpersonal skills.
• Thorough understanding of fulfillment center policies and procedures.
• Thorough understanding of applicable federal, state, local, and company safety policies.

Preferred Experienced, But Not Required:

• Working knowledge of Apple technology.
• Familiarity with Google products (Drive, Gmail and Docs).
