Senior Associate, Treasury Reporting and Analytics

Your career is an investment that grows over time!

Wealthsimple is on a mission to help everyone achieve financial freedom by reimagining what it means to manage your money. Using smart technology, we take financial services that are often confusing, opaque and expensive and make them transparent and low-cost for everyone. We’re the largest fintech company in Canada, with over 4 million users who trust us with more than $50 billion in assets.

Our teams ship often and make an impact with groundbreaking ideas. We're looking for talented people who keep it simple and value collaboration and humility as we continue to create inclusive and high-performing teams where people can be inspired to do their best work.

Our ideal hire has a builder mindset, is detail oriented, action oriented and proactive. They own their role and continuously help identify ways to improve operations processes and controls. It is essential that this person manages time well, keeps on top of deliverables, and has the potential to grow with us. Experience in credit products, prepaid cards or other spend operations functions is a strong plus.

We manage billions of dollars, so the stakes are high. We want to deliver extraordinary experiences that meet our client's on-demand expectations, while being a compliance leader. At Wealthsimple, we are maker-owners, we believe that simple is better, and we do what's right for each client.

We are seeking an analytical, detail-oriented professional with strong SQL skills, advanced Excel expertise, and a passion for process improvement to join our Treasury team. The ideal candidate will excel in problem-solving, dashboard creation, and effective communication across all levels of the organization.

In this role you will:
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive financial analytics and reports to support regulatory compliance and strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (including Product, Engineering, Data Science, and Finance) to optimize workflows and drive project success.
  • Design, build, and refine intuitive, data-driven dashboards that provide actionable insights for various stakeholders.
  • Lean in to drive complex projects within Treasury Cash and Collateral Management, facilitating communication and problem-solving across teams.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis to inform critical business decisions related to Treasury operations and strategy.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.

Skills we're looking for:
  • Relevant experience: Demonstrated success in payments operations, banking and payments, or other operations roles in related fields.
  • Organization & planning: Plans, organizes, and schedules in a productive manner, allowing for a focus on key priorities and regular updates.
  • Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal skills and willingness to work in collaboration with various team members
  • Strong written and verbal communication: Speaks plainly and truthfully. Communicates complex ideas in a simple & easy-to-understand way for any audience (e.g. engineering, 3rd party vendors, growth/operational teams, executive team).
  • Problem solving: If something seems off, you want to figure out what’s going on; you enjoy navigating uncertainty, bringing clarity to ambiguity and don’t wait for a playbook to be written.
  • Proactive & Action Oriented: Acts without being told what to do; taking full ownership of work, and proactively seeks help and input when needed to provide well supported solutions.
  • Efficiency: Ability to produce significant output with minimum wasted effort; finds the path of least resistance to the problem definition, solution and execution.
  • Honesty/integrity: Doesn't cut corners; does what is right, not what is politically expedient.
  • Data & analytics: Has a strong proficiency in SQL, and a history of using data to answer complex problems.
  • Financial modeling, coding/automation, ability to contribute to a data model, and experience with business intelligence tools (Power BI, Superset) are an asset.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in financial analysis or similar role.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated experience in creating clear, impactful dashboards.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
