Cleaner (Yonkers, NY - Multiple Sites)

WinnCompanies is looking for a dependable and customer service-oriented Cleaner to join our Yonkers, NY team, a multiple site housing community with 265 units within walking distance.

In this role, you will perform cleaning functions to ensure the appearance and physical condition of the property is maintained to ownership and management expectations.

This opportunity offers a typical work schedule: Monday through Friday, from 8:00AM to 5:00PM. This position offers a pay range of $16.29 to $17.92 per hour.

• Perform day-to-day tasks, which include, but are not limited to: cleaning office, windows, walls, floors, stairwells, laundry rooms, bathrooms, common areas, hallways, elevators, carpets and painting as requested.
• Empty trash cans, sweep sidewalks, set up hoses, rake lawns and flower beds, plant flowers, and install mulch.
• Prepare all trash and recycling, including bulk items, for removal by city sanitation.
• Perform each cleaning function in accordance with the property's prescribed daily schedule.
• Clean vacant units.
• Perform other cleaning functions as assigned by supervisor.

• Less than 1 year of cleaning or porter work experience.
• Ability to understand spoken and written English.
• Ability to respond to requests in a timely and respectful manner.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to work with a diverse group of people and personalities.
• Prior experience using floor scrubbers and buffers.
• Ability to do heavy lifting and other physical movements, including, but not limited to: standing/walking, repetitive use of hands, climbing, reaching, stooping, kneeling, etc.

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• Experience with a trash compactor.
