The Role:


We are seeking an experienced Director, Business Operations (ERP) to join our Business Operations team. As a Director, Business Operations (ERP), you will be responsible for managing the NetSuite product backlog, prioritizing based on business impact, feasibility, and strategic objectives.


The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of core business processes, such as Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, Record to Report, Financial Reporting, and Inventory Management. They will also possess strong leadership skills, with experience leading Agile development efforts and collaborating with technical teams.


Business Operations is a global team where you will lead the evolution of our ERP platforms (e.g., Avalara, NetSuite, WMS), driving key strategic initiatives that impact the entire organization. We are a collaborative and high-growth environment, partnering with talented teams across multiple functions. Here you will gain exposure to cutting-edge ERP solutions, integrations, and business process automation.


Tasks & Responsibilities:
  • Managing a team of NetSuite developers and administrators, overseeing integrations, and ensuring the security and integrity of NetSuite data.
  • Owning and managing the ERP platform strategy and roadmap, ensuring alignment with business goals and scalability needs.
  • Serving as the primary product owner for NetSuite within the organization, working closely with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and implement best-in-class solutions.
  • Maintaining and continuously refining the ERP product backlog, prioritizing based on business impact, feasibility, and strategic objectives.
  • Acting as the key liaison between finance, operations, supply chain, sales, IT, and executive leadership, gathering business requirements, translating them into technical specifications, and ensuring solutions meet business needs.
  • Defining and document business processes, system workflows, and functional requirements to optimize ERP performance.
  • Collaborating with enterprise architects, developers, and system administrators to design, test, and deploy enhancements, integrations, and customizations.
  • Leading Agile development efforts, participating in sprint planning, daily standups, backlog grooming, retrospectives, and stakeholder demos.
  • Overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of NetSuite configurations, including workflows, reports, dashboards, roles, permissions, saved searches, and custom scripts.
  • Identifying and driving process improvements and automation initiatives, ensuring that NetSuite is leveraged effectively to enhance operational efficiency and reduce manual effort.
  • Ensuring seamless integrations between NetSuite and other enterprise applications (e.g., Salesforce) by defining integration requirements and collaborating with technical teams.
  • Partnering with finance, tax, and compliance teams to ensure NetSuite meets regulatory requirements and supports audit readiness.
  • Monitoring system performance and data integrity, proactively identifying and resolving issues to ensure platform stability and reliability.
  • Developing and delivering training, documentation, and change management strategies, ensuring business users effectively adopt and utilize NetSuite capabilities.
  • Providing regular reporting and updates to leadership on NetSuite performance, roadmap progress, key initiatives, and risks.
  • Managing relationships with third-party vendors, system integrators, and implementation partners, ensuring successful project execution and ongoing platform support.
  • Evaluating and recommending new features, technologies, and third-party applications that enhance ERP functionality and align with business objectives.
  • Leveraging data and analytics to drive decision-making, optimize system usage, and improve reporting capabilities.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Exceptional leadership abilities, demonstrated through effective team management and attaining project objectives with outstanding outcomes.
  • Possession of a strategic mindset, enabling the translation of business requirements into technical solutions that drive enduring success in NetSuite implementations.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, facilitating seamless collaboration with stakeholders across all organizational levels.
  • BS Degree or additional amount of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of 6 years' experience in a Product Owner, ERP Manager, Business Systems Analyst, or related role with a strong focus on ERP.
  • 4 years' experience working with tools such as JIRA and ServiceNow.
  • Consulting or working experience with ERP supply chain applications (particularly Inventory and Manufacturing) is required.


Bonus Qualifications:
  • Extensive knowledge of NetSuite configuration, workflows, saved searches, reporting, scripting capabilities and integrations.
  • Deep understanding of core business processes such as Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, Record to Report, Financial Reporting, and Inventory Management.
  • Ability to analyze complex business problems, define clear requirements, and translate them into effective NetSuite solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • ERP Consultant and/or SuiteFoundation Certification.
  • Scrum master certification or experience.
