As a Senior Business Development Manager in our Commercial team, you will be a key part of the broader Commercial AU business unit with the focus on identifying, pursuing and closing opportunities that drive revenue and growth for the business. Leveraging Zip’s entire Product Suite, you will be maintaining a healthy pipeline of merchants and opportunities within your focus verticals.
Interesting problems you’ll get to solve:
- Become a specialist and SME within your designated verticals where you sell and grow Zip’s Product Suite
- Effectively implement vertical and strategic sales plans for your designated industries and pipeline
- Identify and prioritise opportunities which align with overarching business objectives and metrics
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities and continue to source and feed net new leads into your pipeline
- Effectively manage your targets and implement gap management strategies to ensure goals are being met
- Assist with the development of your sales pipeline by managing each stage from prospecting to closing
- Leverage industry research and insights to provide impactful value to a merchant’s propositions
- Execute on Zip’s best practice Business Development Framework, ensure that cross-functional stakeholders are briefed and visibility of opportunity progression is being communicated to the wider business to allow for effective prioritisation
- Complete financial modeling and pricing on all new deals for mutually beneficial outcomes
- Build presentations to deliver to key decision-making audience ( incl. C Level)
- Work with integrations and the project management team for a white glove onboarding experience
- Collaborate with marketing teams to develop sales strategy, pitching approach and GTM launch plans for new merchants
What you'll bring to the team
- A minimum of 5+ years’ experience in demonstrated ability to sell products or tech with a track record of closing new business. Ideally with Large Enterprise experience with long and complex sales cycles
- Previous experience in FinTech, Financial Service or Payments will be highly desirable
- Demonstrate a track record in achieving business development targets and building customer relationships through business sales
- Excellent commercial astuteness, communication, negotiation and relationship management skills
- Analytical and problem solving skills
- The art of managing different personalities and customers to gain desired outcomes
