Position Summary:

Job Title: Individual Assistance Branch Chief

Full Time or Part Time: Full Time

Temporary/Seasonal/Regular: Temporary

Compensation: $50-$55/hour

Travel/Location: On-site Frankfurt KY required

Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate Individual Assistance (IA) programs during disaster recovery efforts.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with public and private entities to facilitate resource sharing.
  • Ensuring timely and effective delivery of FEMA IA programs, including Housing Assistance, Other Needs Assistance (ONA), and Crisis Counseling.
  • Acting as the primary state liaison with FEMA, local agencies, and voluntary organizations to streamline assistance efforts.
  • Overseeing the opening, staffing, and operation of Disaster Recovery Centers, where survivors can apply for aid and access resources.
  • Ensuring the effective implementation of FEMA’s Disaster Case Mgmt Program, working with case management agencies to support long-term recovery for disaster survivors.
  • Identifying gaps in services and coordinating additional resources to meet survivors’ unmet needs.
  • Ensuring that all IA programs are executed in compliance with federal and state regulations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proven experience managing teams and leading projects related to disaster assistance programs.
  • Strong understanding of federal disaster assistance guidelines and regulations, particularly the IA program.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze data and reports for program improvement and evaluation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in high-pressure situations.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

May have lead responsibilities within projects or small teams depending on function with senior level support.

Expected Hours of Work:

Schedule may vary. Work on evenings and weekends may be required. Dependability and punctuality are paramount.

Travel Requirements:

  • This position is on site.
  • Must be willing to travel and deploy to client sites for extended periods of time.

Physical Demands:

  • Mobility required on-site with clients.
  • Sitting or standing for hours at a time.
  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time if needed.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. repetitively throughout the day and as needed.

Working Environment:

  • Emergency management personnel may work in an office or home environment or be deployed to the field which may require working outdoors in adverse weather conditions.
  • Work may be on-site with clients ex: EOC, hospital, debris sites or local government buildings.
  • All AC Disaster Consulting (ACDC) positions are remote work site positions with the home location agreed upon at time of hire.
  • If the remote work site locations change, ACDC Human Resources must be made aware, and leadership needs to approve any site changes for business registration and payroll tax purposes.

Experience/Education Required:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in emergency management or disaster recovery and Individual Assistance.
  • Minimum 5 years Disaster Recovery Center operations.

Experience/Education Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in emergency management, public administration, or a related field preferred.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without employer sponsored visa is required. We are not able to employ those located outside of the US.
  • Must pass company and any applicable client background check and reference check upon offer of employment.
