The Importer of Record (IOR) Logistics & Compliance Specialist is a key driver of global trade operations, acting as a liaison between the company, its IOR partners, and clients to ensure seamless importation of goods across diverse markets. This role combines strategic process development, expertise in international trade regulations, and project management to deliver efficient, compliant solutions.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with IOR partners to establish and refine processes for importing goods into various countries.
- Ensure all processes comply with international trade laws, customs regulations, and company standards.
- Assist in creation of documentation and training materials for internal teams and clients on import procedures.
- Participate in client calls to explain the IOR process, address inquiries, and provide expert advice on regulatory requirements.
- Act as the primary Logistics point of contact for clients during the entire shipping process for Importer of record Service.
- Foster strong client relationships through clear communication, problem-solving, and responsiveness.
- Negotiate pricing and service agreements with IOR partners to optimize cost efficiency for both the company and clients.
- Analyze costs associated with global rollouts and provide recommendations to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with clients and IOR partners on large-scale and small-scale rollouts to ensure smooth execution.
- Create and manage the logistics rollout schedule, coordinating timelines and compliance efforts for international shipments.
- Monitor project progress and proactively address challenges.
- Stay updated on international trade regulations, customs requirements, and changes in import/export laws.
- Provide guidance to internal teams and clients to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Work closely with sales, legal, logistics, financeand operations teams to align IOR processes with broader company objectives.
- Facilitate the seamless integration of IOR services into customer projects.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance the client experience.
- Stay informed about industry trends and incorporate best practices into the IOR processes.
Qualifications- 5+ years of experience in international trade, customs compliance, logistics, or a related field, with demonstrated success in managing complex import/export processes.
- Proven expertise in Importer of Record (IOR) processes, including developing and refining workflows to ensure compliance with global trade regulations.
- Hands-on experience with international shipping practices, customs clearance, and trade documentation across multiple countries.
- Experience working cross-functionally with other departments such as sales, legal, logistics, operations, and finance
- Familiarity with negotiating contracts and service agreements with third-party logistics providers or IOR partners.
- Track record of successfully managing global rollout projects, including creating logistics schedules and coordinating timelines.

The compensation range indicated in this posting reflects the On-Target Earnings (“OTE”) for this role, which includes a base salary and any applicable target bonus amount. This OTE range may vary based on the candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
