Direct Support Professional (DSP) - JOB FAIR (BRONX)

AHRC New York City is one of the largest providers of services for children and adults with developmental disabilities in New York City. Our mission is to advocate for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to lead full and equitable lives. 

AHRC NYC is holding a DSP JOB FAIR with ON THE SPOT JOB OFFERS! for Full & Part-Time positions in MULTIPLE BRONX RESIDENCES.

DATE: THURSDAY  FEBRUARY 6TH 10AM-1PM.

LOCATION: Recruiter will provide specific location to those who qualify.

PAY RATE: $17-$19 per hour depending on residence placement and driving status. In addition, this position comes with a very generous and comprehensive benefit package. See Benefit package below.

POSITIONS AVAILABLE:

40HR DAY & EVENING SHIFTS 7AM-3PM & 3PM-11PM..... DRIVER LICENSE REQUIRED.
30HR OVERNIGHT SHIFTS 11PM-9AM.....DRIVERS LICENSE NOT REQUIRED.                                     WEEKEND AVAILABILITY NEEDED FOR MOST POSITIONS.                                                                          FREE FAMILY MEDICAL INSURANCE and PAID TRAINING!

Essential responsibilities:

• The oversight of all safety and health considerations.
• Promoting skill development, interests, and hobbies.
• Assisting with Adult Daily Living skills (ADLs)
• Other personalized responsibilities including cooking, cleaning, hygiene, etc.

• Personal or Professional experience supporting People with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) preferred.
• Professionalism; integrity; excellent communication skills. Patience is a MUST!
• Willingness to support people's preferences for community activities, work and leisure activities, the exercise of their rights etc. in various settings.
• Ability to use a computer for data entry.
• High school education/GED, highly preferred.
