Travel Ambulatory Nurse

This is a 1 year contract for Shiprock, NM Indian Health Service


$2,800 - $3,000 a week
Position Overview: The Ambulatory Nurse will perform essential nursing duties and manage patient care needs in accordance with established guidelines and the direction of NNMC's Nursing Supervisor. The role requires adherence to competency standards and compliance with healthcare regulations, ensuring high-quality patient care and safety.

Key Responsibilities:
-Deliver patient care in alignment with established procedures and protocols outlined in the Position Description (PD) and technical direction from the Nursing Supervisor.
-Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards.
-Administer medications, monitor patient responses, and document treatments accurately.
-Perform venipuncture, intravenous therapy, and pain management procedures competently.
-Apply and monitor patient restraints (both soft and hard) as required, ensuring patient safety and compliance with standards.
-Ensure accurate charting and documentation of patient care activities.
-Respond effectively to emergency situations following standard emergency codes and procedures.
-Comply with EMTALA regulations and ensure appropriate patient transfers and emergency care.
-Engage in ongoing training and complete age-specific competency verification.
-Foster understanding and respect for Navajo culture and patient needs in healthcare delivery.
-Serve as a Charge Nurse when required, fulfilling leadership responsibilities and delegating tasks appropriately.

Qualifications:
-Current RN license (valid and in good standing)
-Minimum of 36 months of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in the specialty required by the contract (unless otherwise approved by the Contracting Officer)
-BLS/ACLS certification
-Strong understanding of HIPAA and EMTALA regulations
-Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a culturally diverse environment
-Strong communication and documentation skills
-Experience with IV therapy, venipuncture, and patient restraints preferred
-All nurses must possess a current, valid, unrestricted nursing license in a state, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a Territory of the United States, throughout the term of this contract
