⚡About Amber
Amber is a new way to buy power, designed for a world powered by renewable energy. We give customers direct access to the real-time wholesale electricity price as it varies every 5 mins. We then provide the technology to shift energy usage to the times when cheaper renewables are available in the grid and export to the grid at times when the price is highest. It’s a cheaper way to buy power and the fastest way for Australia to reach 100% renewable energy. We have thousands of customers who love what we are doing and a great product that will play a significant role in driving Australia towards a renewable future.
We are backed by Australia’s leading VCs (including Square Peg Capital and Main Sequence Ventures), impact-focused investors and individuals, and most recently by Commonwealth Bank. We’re now at a critical moment in taking the business to real scale as we disrupt a huge market for the better. We’re committed to building a diverse and inclusive workplace and a great culture of people who love coming to work to build a better world. You’d be a part of a rapidly growing team of over 140 with expertise across energy, technology, marketing, and operations.
💻 About the role
Today we have partnerships with many of solar and battery installers who help explain and refer new customers to Amber to help battery and EV owners unlock the full value of their devices. We’re looking for a highly motivated & self-driven sales leader to manage our installer channel sales team and continue to add new partnerships and grow this channel.
You’d be working in a team at the cutting edge of new energy technology, as a part of Amber’s Sales, Marketing & Growth team. Your role will be to drive the strategy and development of new solar and battery installer partnerships. You’ll work closely with all teams across the business, from marketing, to product, operations, exec, and with external partners, to help grow Amber’s automation products in line with the objectives of the retail business.
By scaling this high priority channel, your work will contribute to driving the renewables transition, while benefiting customers and the grid.
This is a full-time role to be based ideally from Melbourne, but we are also open to considering the right candidate anywhere within Australia.
We are also open to you working 4 days a week, if that's what you are looking for. We do have an office in the Melbourne CBD, where we work flexibly between the office and home. For those based in Sydney, catch up in a co-working space every now and then, and rest of the locations in Australia work from home. We expect to remain Melbourne based but maintain flexibility between the office and WFH.
🌈 If this kind of work gets you excited, we'd love to hear from you!
Even if you don’t meet 100% of the requirements listed above, we still encourage you to apply. We're open to all backgrounds and encourage people from underrepresented groups to apply. We never discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, or disability status.
Note: We will begin responding to applications in January 2025, considering the holiday period.
Our hiring process will generally be as below:
- A screening interview with our talent team
- A take-home challenge that should take no longer than a few hours
- A follow up case study interview with our CMO and a direct team member
- A culture interview with two cross-functional team members
- A final chat with one of the founders and member of our Exec team
Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted and applications will be accepted only from candidates already based in Australia, preferably Melbourne with full working rights!
