Job Description

The Event Production Manager to lead and execute high-quality events that align with our brand and enhance the guest experience. This position will oversee all aspects of event production, from vendor and labor management to logistics and execution. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in event production, with skills in vendor negotiation, budgeting, and the ability to manage multiple moving parts under tight deadlines. This position reports to the Sr. Director of Events.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Source, negotiate, and manage relationships with vendors to ensure timely delivery of services, staying within budget and aligning with Aspen Skiing Company standards
  • Recruit, schedule, and supervise on-site staff and contractors, ensuring all team members understand their roles and responsibilities
  • Oversee budget management and process check requests; maintain accurate records to ensure transparency and accountability
  • Handle a range of administrative tasks related to event planning, including documentation, permit applications, and post-event reporting
  • Coordinate with marketing and sponsorship teams to ensure all sponsor requirements are met and that sponsor visibility aligns with contract obligations
  • Operate and supervise the use of heavy equipment, as needed, for event setup and teardown; ensure compliance with safety regulations
  • Develop and manage event timelines, ensuring all logistical aspects of each event are executed smoothly
  • Conduct post-event debriefs to assess successes, challenges, and areas for improvement
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in event management, hospitality, or related field preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in event production, with leadership experience

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Proficient knowledge of the ski resort industry
  • Proficient experience with heavy equipment operation
  • Ability to lead and manager others
  • Ability to manage budgets, negotiate with vendors, and coordinate complex event logistics
  • Excellent interpersonal skills 
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively & effectively with team members and stakeholders across the business
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Ability to be on a computer and phone a majority of the workday
  • Ability to solve complex situations and scenarios

 

Additional Information

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

  • Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand, bend or be on your feet for extended periods of time
  • Regularly work in wet, cold, hot conditions requiring the use of protective apparel/equipment to prevent exposure to the elements and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces
  • Must be able to frequently lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance
  • Locations will require an employee to ski or snowboard
