The Opportunity:

We’re looking for an Events Specialist to join our Events team.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Event Experiences, the Events Specialist will work on a variety of events, ensuring that all events align with corporate marketing objectives and divisional goals. Events may be virtual, hybrid, or in-person.

What your day looks like:

  • Lead the end-to-end planning, execution, and evaluation of Aviso’s corporate events, ranging from mid to high complexity, typically with 6 – 12 months of lead time
  • Visualize and articulate the attendee journey with a client experience lens, problem-solving efficiently based on data in an independent and collaborative capacity
  • Develop and manage project briefs with guidance from the senior manager, meticulously maintain budgets, conduct venue sourcing, F&B orders, oversee ground and air transportation, and light event agency resources (as required)
  • Manage senior and executive level stakeholders effectively during the event planning and on-site; including their strategic initiatives and incorporating their business goals into events where applicable
  • Comfortably navigate and utilize event management and email platforms, survey software, and learn new tools as required
  • Manage assigned event resources effectively, providing clear direction and monitoring successful execution and delivery
  • Conduct post-event surveys, build comprehensive post-event reports, and continuously seek ways to improve event processes such as event in-take, event briefing, event platform management, etc.
  • Support on other events as required
  • This role requires occasional travel (less than 15%) and work outside of normal business hours

Your experience and skills:

  • 3 - 5 years of experience in corporate or agency event management with increasing responsibility and complexity of projects and events is required
  • High level of proficiency in MS Office applications and ability to easily adopt new technology is required
  • Strong time management skills and multitasking abilities are required
  • Track record of being extremely well organized and detail oriented is required
  • Team orientation, self-discipline, and resourcefulness is required
  • University degree in marketing, communications, or business administration is preferred.
  • Financial industry experience is preferred
  • Fluent communication skills in English are required and bilingual skills in French are an asset

Salary

This position is posted with an expected salary range of $77,000 - $85,000 CAD annually. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate and the requirements of the position.
