We’ve launched our journey towards becoming an increasingly digital organization leveraging the latest customer experience technologies to decrease customer effort and increase efficiency. This is an excellent opportunity to come be a part of the Digital Customer Experience Team (DCX) where you will directly impact and help shape Axon’s future success in a very visible way.

To drive our mission forward, we are looking for a proactive Salesforce Architect with a builder mentality who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can adapt to constantly shifting business priorities. In this role, you will play a key part in elevating Axon’s post-sales systems and customer-facing platforms by tackling some of our most complex challenges. You’ll collaborate closely with business systems analysts and developers within Axon’s Digital Customer Experience team to support significant initiatives such as reimagining field service, re-architecting Salesforce Service Cloud for our next stage of growth, and establishing architectural and documentation standards. As a functional and technical subject matter expert (SME) in the Digital Customer Experience pillar, you will work closely with stakeholders to deliver high-impact, high-ROI projects that enhance efficiency and improve both employee and customer experiences.

What You’ll Do

Location: Must be based in one of our 4 main R&D office Hubs (Scottsdale, Seattle, Atlanta, or Boston) so you can easily collab in-person when it’s helpful and be an active part of our vibrant Axon culture. We are flexible with your ability to work from home!

Reports to: Director, Digital Customer Experience

  • Work closely with the Director, Digital Customer Experience to develop and maintain the technology roadmap aligned with business goals and objectives.
  • Lead the design and implementation of high impact, high visibility business systems that meet organizational needs, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems and technologies.
  • Collaborate closely with business systems analysts and business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications and system designs.
  • Monitor for reoccurring issues, system/data or process gaps and proactively identify potential sources of increased efficiency and enhancements.
  • Lead initiatives for continuous improvement of business systems and processes.
  • Develop standards for, create and maintain comprehensive documentation of system architecture, processes, and configurations.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate technology stacks and platforms for implementing business solutions.
  • Conduct periodic access reviews and penetration testing to meet security and audit requirements.
  • Provide training and support to internal users.
  • Exhibit a passion to stay updated with the latest technologies and trends, actively seeking opportunities to learn and apply new tools, frameworks, or methodologies in innovative ways to solve business challenges and enhance system capabilities.

What You Bring

  • At least 3 years experience in a hands-on solutions architect, technical architect, or development role and have led, architected, and delivered at least one cross-functional project.
  • At least 2 years experience in Salesforce development working with custom objects, automations (APEX), and integrations.
  • Knowledge of relational database theory and able to query using SQL, SOQL, or similar.
  • Understanding of types of APIs and API design patterns such as REST, SOAP, GraphQL, gRPC, and webhooks, and ability to explain the tradeoffs with each design.
  • Ability to coach business systems analysts, admins, and developers on best practices and standards.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical team members.
  • Sigma, Snowflake, Tableau, Power BI, or Python report building experience.
  • Experience with Git or Github.
  • Extreme attention to detail and accuracy.

Preferred Skills / Experience

  • Bachelors degree in CS, MIS, CIS, or related field.
  • Prior experience with development using APEX, LWC, HTML, CSS, Javascript, RESTful APIs, React, Angular, NextJS, NodeJS, C#.
  • Prior experience with Burpsuite or other web application security tools.
  • Salesforce Certified Technical Architect and/or other Salesforce certifications.

The Pay: Axon is a total compensation company, meaning compensation is made up of base pay, bonus, and stock awards. The starting base pay for this role is between USD 145,000 in the lowest geographic market and USD 218,000 in the highest geographic market. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: level, function, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, geographic market, and often a combination of all these factors.
