Working at Brex allows you to push your limits, challenge the status quo, and collaborate with some of the brightest minds in the industry. We’re committed to building a diverse team and inclusive culture and believe your potential should only be limited by how big you can dream. We make this a reality by empowering you with the tools, resources, and support you need to grow your career.

Product at Brex

The Product team is at the forefront of Brex's mission to empower employees anywhere to make better financial decisions. With a deep understanding of the business, we identify and scope out the most impactful opportunities for Brex to tackle. We are responsible for aligning cross-functional teams — such as Engineering, Legal, Compliance, and Design — on key decisions. We set strategy and drive products from inception to launch, enabling Brex to grow rapidly and help our customers reach their full potential.

What you’ll do

As a Senior Product Manager at Brex, you will be the owner of the end-to-end experience for creating and updating credit limits for all Brex customers. Your primary goal will be to build and optimize systems that correctly assess risk for new customers, enabling successful underwriting within a reasonable timeframe. You will also be responsible for ensuring that customers' credit limits are sufficient to meet their spending needs, both at the time of onboarding and as their companies evolve and grow on the Brex platform. Furthermore, you will strive to maintain the stability of customer credit limits over time, minimizing the need for frequent manual interventions. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver a seamless and efficient underwriting experience that directly impacts our customers' core Brex experience. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and other Product Managers across the organization, based in San Francisco, New York, Seattle, Vancouver, Brazil, and remote locations.

Where you’ll work

This role will be based in either our San Francisco or New York City office. You must be willing to work in the office at least 2 days per week on Wednesday and Thursday. Employees will be able to work remotely for up to 4 weeks per year, for a minimum of one week at a time.

Responsibilities

  • Own and lead the strategy and roadmap for the credit limit lifecycle across all Brex products and services, from initial underwriting to ongoing limit management.
  • Build a deep understanding of the risk assessment process and identify opportunities to optimize underwriting speed and accuracy while maintaining appropriate risk levels.
  • Define and launch new products and features focused on improving the customer experience of receiving and managing their credit limits, including automation and proactive limit adjustments.
  • Collaborate effectively with a cross-functional team including Engineering, Data Science, Risk, Operations, and partner with other Product Managers to ensure a cohesive and efficient credit limit experience.
  • Set clear goals and metrics for underwriting efficiency, customer satisfaction with credit limits, and the stability of credit lines, and be accountable for achieving them.
  • Work closely with Data Science and Risk teams to leverage data and models to enhance the underwriting process and proactively identify and address potential limit sufficiency issues.
  • Partner with relevant teams to ensure the credit limit experience scales effectively as Brex's customer base grows and evolves.

Requirements

  • Relevant experience: 5+ years of experience in product management or management consulting, ideally with direct responsibility for or experience scaling risk, credit, or underwriting products and systems.
  • Analytical sense: You demonstrate a strong aptitude for and actively use data to inform your decision-making. Experience with analyzing risk-related data is highly preferred, and basic SQL proficiency is strongly preferred.
  • Communication: You have proven experience working and communicating effectively with senior leaders and executives, and influencing stakeholders across departments and functions, including Engineering, Data Science, Risk, Operations, and more. You excel at building trust and working relationships.
  • Systems-thinker: You are a systems thinker, capable of thinking holistically across product, technical, and risk systems to identify bottlenecks and opportunities for improving the efficiency, accuracy, and customer experience of the underwriting and credit limit management processes.

Compensation

The expected salary range for this role is $180,000 - $230,000.  However, the starting base pay will depend on a number of factors including the candidate’s location, skills, experience, market demands, and internal pay parity. Depending on the position offered, equity and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package.

Please be aware, job-seekers may be at risk of targeting by malicious actors looking for personal data. Brex recruiters will only reach out via LinkedIn or email with a brex.com domain. Any outreach claiming to be from Brex via other sources should be ignored.
