ROLE OVERVIEW:
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Project Manager with Credit Risk Experience. This role is ideal for someone with a deep understanding of credit risk processes in banking and a strong background in leading and managing complex projects. You will be responsible for driving strategic initiatives to enhance our credit risk management framework, improving risk assessment processes, and ensuring successful implementation of projects related to credit risk controls and systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership: Lead and manage a portfolio of credit risk-related projects from inception to completion, ensuring projects align with the bank’s overall risk management strategy.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with various teams, including Credit Risk, IT, Operations, Compliance, and Business units, to ensure seamless project delivery and alignment with organizational goals.
- Project Planning & Execution: Develop detailed project plans, establish clear timelines, allocate resources, and monitor project milestones to ensure the successful completion of projects on time and within scope.
- Risk Framework Improvement: Lead initiatives to enhance the credit risk management framework, including improvements in credit risk models, reporting processes, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that projects comply with applicable regulatory standards and requirements, such as Basel III, and EMIR, as well as internal credit risk policies.
- Stakeholder Management: Engage with senior leadership and other key stakeholders to define project objectives, set expectations, and provide regular updates on project status, challenges, and risks.
- Process Optimization: Identify areas for process improvement within the credit risk function, recommending and implementing enhancements to streamline workflows, improve efficiency, and reduce operational risk.
- Change Management: Oversee change management processes related to credit risk, including system upgrades, process changes, and the introduction of new tools or models.
- Risk Reporting & Documentation: Ensure comprehensive documentation of project progress, risks, and outcomes. Prepare detailed status reports and executive summaries for senior management and stakeholders.
- Budget and Resource Management: Manage project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation, ensuring that all projects are completed within financial and time constraints.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in credit risk management, risk analysis, or related roles within a banking or financial services environment.
- Credit Risk Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of credit risk management practices, methodologies, and regulatory frameworks (e.g., Basel III, EMIR, Dodd-Frank).
- Experience with credit risk models, risk assessment, credit exposure, and mitigation strategies.
- Knowledge of credit products and services, including loans, derivatives, and securitizations.
- Project Management Skills: Proven ability to lead complex projects and initiatives within a financial services or banking environment. Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is highly desirable.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex risk scenarios and develop actionable solutions.
