Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Data Analyst to support the Data Management team by creating internal reports and building team-level metrics dashboards. This role will focus on developing and maintaining reports that track productivity and data quality, while working closely with the data technicians to inform people about changes needed to prepare our data for use across the business. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that the data we manage is accurate, actionable, and aligned with standards.
Essential Job Functions:- Design and develop internal reports to monitor the performance of the data management team, focusing on productivity, data quality, and operational efficiency. Reports will be used to track team metrics, performance, and areas requiring attention.
- Build and maintain real-time metrics dashboards to visualize key performance indicators (KPIs) and other internal team metrics. Leverage BI tools to create dashboards that are easy to interpret and align with team goals.
- Work closely with data technicians to identify and inform them of any data quality issues or inconsistencies that need to be addressed. Provide clear and actionable insights to drive improvements in data quality and structure.
- Write and optimize SQL queries to extract the necessary data for reports and dashboards. Ensure data accuracy and consistency in all reporting outputs.
- Automate report generation and dashboard updates to minimize manual effort and enhance the efficiency of internal reporting workflows.
- Assist in preparing the data for AI initiatives by identifying data quality gaps. Collaborate with data technicians to ensure that the data is clean, properly structured, and ready for use in AI models and predictive analytics.
- Regularly review data quality metrics and reports, ensuring the data being tracked and reported is accurate and complete. Provide feedback to data technicians to help guide data improvements.
- Maintain documentation related to reporting processes, SQL queries, and dashboard metrics to ensure consistency and transparency in data management practices.
- Continuously identify and recommend improvements to reporting processes, data collection methods, and the overall management of internal metrics to drive productivity and data quality.
Education/Experience:- 3+ years of experience in data reporting, analytics, and dashboard development.
- Experience with SQL, BI tools (Power BI, Tableau), and data reporting in a business or technical context.
- Experience with process automation and reporting efficiency tools.
- Familiarity with data governance practices and how they impact internal reporting.
- Familiarity with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) tools (e.g., Talend, Alteryx) to support data pipelines (preferred).
- Experience with cloud-based data storage or analytics platforms (e.g., AWS) (preferred).
- Knowledge of integrating data from multiple systems (e.g., ERP, CRM) into a unified reporting structure (preferred).
Competencies:- Advanced proficiency in SQL for querying and extracting data from relational databases, including writing complex queries for reporting and analysis.
- Experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for creating reports and dashboards to track team performance and metrics.
- Understanding of data profiling techniques and the ability to recognize and communicate data quality issues to technicians.
- Proven ability to build and maintain dashboards to track KPIs and performance metrics for internal teams.
- Strong analytical skills in designing reports that track team performance, operational efficiency, and support data-driven decisions.
- Experience automating report generation and dashboard updates using BI tools' automation features or scripting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work with data technicians and other team members to ensure data accuracy and process improvements.
- Understanding of AI data readiness and the ability to collaborate with technical teams.
- Ensuring data accuracy in reports and dashboards, identifying discrepancies, and resolving them with the team.
