SUMMARY:
The Mayor’s Office of Management and Budget (OMB) is the City of New York’s chief financial agency. OMB’s staff of analysts and experts assembles and oversees the City’s expense and capital budgets, which fund the activities of approximately 90 City agencies and entities.
The Community Development Block Grant – Entitlement and Disaster Recovery (CDBG-EDR) Unit oversees the City's Community Development Block Grant awards, which are administered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The CDBG - Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) program provides funding to address a wide range of needs following presidentially-declared disasters. The City currently manages CDBG-DR allocations related to Hurricanes Sandy and Ida. Funded programs focus on disaster relief, long-term recovery, restoration of infrastructure and housing, economic revitalization, and making the City more resilient to the impacts of climate change.
