At Clarion, our people are at the absolute heart of what we do. We’re proud that our core values of PASSION, CARE, IMAGINATION, and TRUST define the way we carry out our work across all of our exhibitions and conferences.
If you share our values and want to be a part of a successful, dynamic, and creative global business then we want to hear from you.
The Opportunity:
iGamingBusiness.com has built up a vast audience across multiple markets, and we’re eager to grow even further. To do so, we are looking to bring in an audience development editor to support our content team by helping increase our reach and better engage new and existing readers around the world.
The Audience Development Editor will complement our existing content team, working alongside our reporters and editors to maximise the impact of our news, data and analysis.
We’re on the hunt for someone with content marketing experience and the technical skills that brings, but with the drive and ambition to leverage these skills to drive audience growth and consolidate iGB’s position as the gaming industry’s leading media brand. Reporting to the global content director, you will also act as a bridge between content and marketing, with scope to liaise with the product team as the role develops.
Key Responsibilities:
- Content optimisation: We are training up the team in optimisation, but we want someone with the skills to support with weekly or monthly keyword research, helping the team spot easy wins and other opportunities to make sure our content reaches the widest possible audience.
- Content creation: The gaming industry is constantly evolving and expanding globally, and our global focus means the coverage never stops. Someone who can work with the team to spot opportunities to package coverage around key developments, whether that’s a LinkedIn newsletter or lead magnets, to arm marketing with acquisition assets, will thrive in this role.
- Social media skills: We’re growing on LinkedIn and finding our feet on X thanks to our US community manager, and we’d like to strengthen our engagement outside of North America. Working with the community manager, we're looking to replicate our rapid response posting of US news in Europe, as well as looking at other ways to engage the industry and grow our follower base.
- Aptitude with analytics: Key to this role is measuring the impact of what you do. We track content performance but need to better integrate this into our day to day work. We’d look to you to assess what content works, and why. But we’re also keen to ensure we balance the topics that matter, driven by team expertise, and data usage. Instead of just following what gets hits, we’re looking for someone who looks at how to make key topics perform better, not just replace them.
- Engaging the industry: Whether you’re new to the industry or experienced in the sector, we’re looking for someone to combine audience engagement experience with a journalist’s curiosity for the market. We’re interested in what’s happening, but also why it’s happening, and this role aims to ensure we find new and innovative ways to deliver that intelligence to a growing audience.
Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours:
- Experience working for a fast-paced media brand is invaluable for this role.
- Demonstrable skills in SEO.
- An effective communicator, who is comfortable leading discussions and presenting to a team.
- Aptitude in innovating around content promotion, with the ability to demonstrate successful initiatives you have worked on or even led.
- Experience in using monitoring and research tools such as SEMrush, Ahrefs for example.
- You should have a working knowledge of GA4 from prior roles.
- A strong and natural writing style, and experience of working to reflect or develop distinct tone of voice for brands.
- Experience in working across different content formats, whether that’s editorial, video or audio.
- Experience in the gambling industry is not a necessity, but a willingness to engage with the sector definitely is!
How we’ll measure your success:
- Overall growth in site traffic: At its core this role aims to better leverage our content to provide a meaningful uplift in website traffic and users.
- Growing our social audience: We’re currently moving ahead of competitors on platforms such as LinkedIn, and working with the community manager we’d like to create a gap that’s difficult to cross.
- Increase our newsletter audience: Armed with a flow of high quality, industry-leading editorial content and working with an audience campaigns manager within the marketing team, we’ll look to you to play a key role in growing our subscriber base.
- Grow traffic from target regions: Whether it’s Latin America, Africa or further afield, we are looking to expand our reach into new markets, and you will work with our editorial team and freelancers to ensure there is a flow of content to package into new products, create lead magnets or create promotional assets.
- New product development: We want to give you the freedom to innovate, so we will look to you to be a key voice in shaping and devising new ways of producing, distributing and presenting content.
