(Associate) Stem Cell Scientist

Experience level: Masters, PhD or equivalent work experience

The position

We are currently looking to hire an exceptionally skilled and hard-working AS/Scientist with 3+ years of experience in mouse iPSCs culture and differentiation protocols to join our R&D team. You will work differentiating mouse iPSCs into functional end-cell types, optimizing existing protocols, and developing new differentiation protocols. You will be part of a team developing and optimizing mouse in vitro gametogenesis protocols (Hikabe et al., 2016; Hayashi et al., 2017; Yoshino et al., 2021) to generate a mouse pre-clinical data package. This work will contribute to safety studies needed to advance human in vitro gametogenesis into clinical applications.

Our mission

Conception is a startup with the mission of generating viable human eggs from induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs). Successful development of our research could have many benefits, such as removing age limits on motherhood, allowing for easy screening of eggs with harmful genetic mutations, and allowing same-sex couples to reproduce.

What we are looking for

As a mouse iPSC expert, you will help with iPSC line generation and characterization, iPSC maintenance, quality control, troubleshooting, and clonal line generation. You will also help troubleshoot a variety of iPSC differentiation protocols to induce germ and somatic ovarian cells. Eventually, your role could also include working with 3D organoids and  generating reporter cell lines and using CRISPR-based gene editing tools. You will contribute to designing and executing critical data for the mouse pre-clinical safety package, including exposure to regulatory strategy planning.

Come and work with us

We are well-funded and connected in Silicon Valley, offering:

  • Competitive salary and company equity.

  • Comprehensive healthcare benefits.

  • A focused and supportive research environment committed to achieving impactful results

Expertise in mouse iPSC cultures is required. Other valuable experience includes iPSC differentiation protocols, cell sorting, gene editing and interpretation of computational data (e.g., SmartSeq2, Single-Cell RNA-seq). We can provide training in areas of inexperience if you are passionate about our goal.

Mission alignment, as well as a solid scientific background with a reliable track record in executing experiments, is something we strongly care about. You will work closely with other project teams and should be a great communicator, maintain detailed and accurate records, and have an eye for detail.

If you are passionate, hardworking, and aligned with our mission, we want to hear from you.
