About the role (your why) 

As Associate Director – Financial Control & Accounting, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial landscape of Datacom. This high-impact leadership position offers the opportunity to drive financial excellence, streamline reporting processes, and uphold the highest standards of financial control and accounting.

You’ll be at the forefront of strategy development and execution, ensuring that our financial operations align seamlessly with Datacom’s broader vision. Your expertise will be key in maintaining compliance with financial controls, accounting principles, and reporting standards—all while optimizing operational efficiency.

What you’ll bring 

  • Extensive knowledge and experience in Finance/Accounting, including GAAP & IFRS
  • Extensive knowledge of financial management practices, with a clear understanding of the relationship between costs, utilisation, and project revenue.
  • In depth knowledge of Record-2-Report processes
  • Strong strategic background, with an ability to grasp the big picture.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing people and teams, financial management, budget tracking and reporting.
  • Experience developing and implementing strategic plans and objectives.
  • Manage large Team spread across key locations

Responsibilities 

  • Overseeing accounting, financial control and reporting related “record-to-report activities, and ensure adherence with generally accepted accounting practices, financial controls, and related internal finance policies.
  • Managing performance & planning operations aligned with cost and service structures, productivity measures and delivery methods to achieve planned targets.
  • Drive operational efficiencies through continuous process improvements and identifying system improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborating with other senior managers and internal stakeholders to establish strategic plans and objectives.
  • Decision making to significantly impact the overall success of operations.
  • Making final decisions on administrative or operational matters, ensuring effective achievement of objectives.
  • Supporting the wider Datacom teams ensuring an aligned go-to-market approach focused on growth and mutual benefit between Datacom and customers.
  • Relationship management with (and between) external agencies and suppliers, ensuring contracts and service levels are negotiated in line with strategic aims and financial constraints.
  • Regular interaction with executives and/or major customers as required.
  • Addressing complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of the business.
