This role is part of our Personalised Creative team. We create emotive yet conversion-focused ideas, products and campaigns at scale and speed. Our specialty is hyper-personalised, digital communications that change perceptions, shape new behaviours, and shift market share for our clients including eBay, Ancestry, Canon, and more! 

 

JOB PURPOSE:

As Senior Creative, Copywriter, you'll write, edit, and approve compelling marketing and content copy for eBay as a priority and various project clients while supporting Copywriters. Working closely with the Executive Creative Director, you will establish processes and guidelines to maximise quality and minimise churn.  

  

This role requires a genuine passion for creativity, writing and brand storytelling. You will be expected to guard our clients' tone of voice and creative standards, while continuing to push new ideas and embody DEPT’s values.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Edit, shape, and influence copy created for various clients
  • Mentor copywriters and provide them with strong guidance
  • Create clear, effective, and original copy and content
  • Develop creative ideas and concepts across multiple channels
  • Adhere to clients' tone of voice and brand guidelines 
  • Establish processes and policies to maximise team efficiency 
  • Proof internal messaging and update/maintain style guides
  • Research competitors and trends for creative inspiration
  • Facilitate creative brainstorms and other necessary meetings 

 

SKILLS AND PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience as a copywriter is a must, and a background in agency or brand is preferred
  • Experience editing content and giving feedback is necessary
  • Experience in the e-commerce/retail environment a plus
  • In-depth knowledge of multi-channel digital copy and brand development
  • Understanding of social media content best practices and trends preferred 
  • Ability to deliver compelling marketing and content copy that sells
  • Confidence in working with other departments and stakeholders, such as designers, developers, and clients
  • Readiness to work at a fast pace on large marketing campaigns with many assets
  • An understanding of the importance of consistency across different touchpoints of a user journey
  • Ability to present work to large groups and communicate ideas clearly and enthusiastically
  • A collaborative approach to getting things done
